Hi Everyone!
Welcome back to the Gambit Guild forum. We have missed you! This is the place to introduce yourself.
Enjoy!
Neko

Heyas,
I am Bob, Butcher of Smurfs.
I won't directly participate on this board very much, but you'll probably figure out that if you see me lurking around... something is about to break. ::)
I'll primarily be involved with some of the technical aspects of the site, so if someone has an issue or a great idea... I might chime in.
-
Wow, it's good to see the site coming back together. Between Gambit disappearing from comics, and then the site disappearing from the net, I was worried that Gambit's fandom had given up.
Hope to see things up and running again soon! Oh yea, hello. Hah. I've been a member of the forums for the past two or three versions of the boards, but changed my name each time. My first was my RL name, and then I was going by Vilify for a bit. Not sure if I posted much under the second alias. lol
-
Welcome back Spectrum. Pass the word, would love to get everyone back. And thanks to SmurfButcherBob for helping out.
Neko

Hello. Been a while since I posted in the previous incarnations of the Guild. Not since the old Mailing List ages ago. Goodness, that's almost a decade! Awesome job BoS. ;)
-
Hey, to show my appreciation...
Congrats, leslina! You've won our "Oldest Member" contest! YOU are now the PROUD, NEW OWNER of a New Kitten!
Be certain to check your mail, it should be showing up via FedEx on Monday.
;D
-
Wow! I've never won anything before! Hope the package isn't--stinky. ;D
-
Well of course its stinky, what fun would it be if it wasn't????? ;D
Welcome back to the Guild Leslina.
Neko
-
Hiya, its nice to see the GambitGuild back up again. I went by the SN TheGuild on the old forums. Keep up the good work.
-
'Ello there everyone.
I was a member before the Great Dissapearance, under the same name. It's fantastic to see this up and running again.
For those who don't know me or don't remember me, I'm Percy. *waves*
-
My name's Erik. By the by. Good to see you all again.
-
Hi :) it's me, CrazyDragon ^^ *waves*
Yay, the real GambitGuild is back! :D
-
Welcome all the new folks, glad to have you on board.
Spread the word ... the more the merrier!
Neko
-
Hey!!!
I was already member of the forum before the site went down. Nice to see that the site is back! What was teh reason the site went down anyway?? ???
-
Not quite sure what happened to the other site. Hopefully, we won't have those issues. ;D
Neko
-
Hi every body
-
Hello Gambit20709! Welcome to the Gambit Guild.
Neko
-
Hi there.
-
There is Canemar! Wondered when you'd get here! Great to have you. Post away!
Neko ;D
-
Yay the GG's back.
Hi everyone how are you all? I was a member of the old Gambit Guild some of you may remember me.
-
Nice to meet you! Good to see more people coming back.
-
Nice to meet you to. It is good to see people coming back now to email some other people that used to come here and see if i can get them back.
-
Sweet! That will rock. I know Scruffy used to visit allot so if any knows where Scruff is that would be good too.
Neko
-
Hello - I'm a noobie here, though I did peruse the old gambit guild for a short time before it went down...I don't think I ever posted - pretty sure I just lurked...hmm. Dang brain anyway.
Anyway - obviously I'm a fan, and thought I'd stalk here to get more of a fix. I'm 32, a mother (therefore a girl by default), and I'm (shocking I am sure 'cause of the name) involved in animal welfare.
Nice to meetcha all :)

Neko
I know where Scruff is gettin himself into trouble lol. I with try and drag him back when I give him ring a this weekend and I will see I can get Shinatoa, Niala and SheCat back and Remy Lebeau ;D?
Hey nice to meet ya Paws.
-
Yo all
I'm new to the Guild, was dragged over here by Paws, who incidentally is the reason for my Gambit love. She totally turned me on to him.
Not much to say except I am 24, live in NY, a sculptor among other things, and I co-run an RP on another Xmen fansite.
Hiya!
-
Hiya and welcome

Awesome! Welcome, would you be interested in doing some RP in our gaming board? I'm not good with games or that sort of thing.
Neko

Neko
Hmm...it's possible. I co-run a chat based RP, and its actually the first RP I've ever played, let alone run. If anyone is interested in playing I can surely give out a link. It'd be great to have some new people in it, and maybe we can have some kind of cross-board stuff.
-
A member here, CrazyDragon. Had told me this site was back up and running. Nice to see that it is. If you're not familiar with me, my name is Turbo. I had joined the Gambit Guild forums previously when the older version was around. The members was behind in comics, so I posted scans page by page for them. They started calling me a "Legbit". Legend + Gambit = Legbit. If this place needs scans or anything, I could possibly get them. Just saying hello, by the way.
-
Perfect timing, Turbo...
They wanna put The Reading Room back together. :o

Ah ok, if y'all need help getting scans. Maybe message me a list or something of what is needed and I could see what I could do. It'd be my pleasure to help. ;)
-
Seems like the Guild is really gaining some momentum in members joining. Maybe this community will be even more active than the previous incarnations?
-
yes, I noticed the same thing Spectrum ... and what I'm really enjoying is all the help. I like that everyone wants to do something.
As to the reading room ... incase you haven't gotten to the thread yet. We can not put the reading room back up due to legal issues.:'(
However, this dilemna has given me an idea. I'll post in the appropriate thread to get your views on it.
Neko
-
Hello! Newbie, but not to Gambit or lurking on this site's and forum's various incarnations. I hope this version sticks around for a good while, very very glad to see it back. :D
-
Hey everyone,
? ? ?I was around for the last one when Strykerblaze brought me in. I am happy to see it back and I hope it sticks for a while. I have quite a collection of Gambit stuff so if anyone ever needs pictures or scans let me know.
-T
-
Feel free to contribute to the Gallery. It'd be nice to see some more scans that I didn't put there. lol
-
*chuckles* I know this site has had issues, and gone through some stuff to be around ... but in my mind's eye ... this one is gonna be here for quite some time.
Neko
-
*chuckles* I know this site has had issues, and gone through some stuff to be around ...
Uh, this site has been around for less than a week, dear :)
-
this site maybe new .. to you. But for the rest of us, its been around awhile. oh the cute bickering begins. LOL
Neko
-
Ha. Does anyone recall how many members the last incarnation had on its forums?
-
I'm not sure, I'd like to think it was atleast 100 or more. But if I remember correctly the site kept going down and it seemed like we were always resigning up.
I'm hoping that this service I've purchased will not fail like that. And on the plus side, everything is backed up. ;D So, if there is a failure we don't lose everything.
Neko
-
Hi, everyone!
I'm SO glad to see the site back up! I'd just found it when it before, and was poking around when it ... well ... vanished. So, of course, I never posted on the old boards. (Too busy poking around the rest of the site before. ;) )
-
Well for what it's worth, I'm an Admin-nazi in real life (not a total user's nightmare, but almost ;) ). This site will be a bit of a management challenge, because it's a shared host... and I can't take a chainsaw to it like I would a real enterprise box, and I really cannot see what's going on with with the guts at any given time. My instincts tell me that the biggest issue will be managing the quotas that the site plan allows... and (like anything) that'll mean a tradeoff between usefulness and availability.
As a guess, I've implemented some basic "duh" tradeoffs, already... for example, we won't need to worry burning our transfer allocations by serving images/avatars to the MySpace crowd or parasite webs, because I've configged this to disallow sending images if the requesting page isn't on this site. Obviously, that goes directly toward our availability - but it somewhat sucks for a member who wants to show a graphic on another board. That'd be the other board's problem, in my book - my job is to keep this site available for use, and keep it useful when used. Likewise, guests cannot really view the galleries - all we need is one Googlebot to start harvesting images, and we'll have an issue.
Until the wife says otherwise, that is. :) For some things, we can just throw money at it, if the usefulness is worth it (like the gallery). As always, there is a balance to be struck... the site's availability is moot if it doesn't do what ya'all need. If you need something, just ask - the worst that can happen is I force your color scheme to be flashing yellow text on a hot-green background for a few days...
In other news, Spectrum had me hack up a copy of this theme over the weekend - basically, it's black text on light greys. If desired, you can preview or select it in your profile options.
-
I missed the Guild, and I am really glad to see it back. Thanks to everyone who is working hard on setting this site back up.
-
I have nothing useful to contribute except "Yay! It's back!"
*bows back into lurkdom*
-
Uhhhhm. Hi? I'm Luce, and I think that makes me... fresh meat.
Glad to be here. ;)
-
I was on the previous forum before it went kaput by the same name. 'llo again. Though it seems funny that, despite being a fanfic writer, I've only managed one little fic about Gambit; I'm a Sailormoon writer pretty much. 8)
Though I will admit to some sneaky manuevering to get Gambit in my story in a way...
-
Uhhhhm. Hi? I'm Luce, and I think that makes me... fresh meat.
I know you! *pokes*

I am here at your bad influence. For shame! :P

Newbie here! I think I joined a lil before the forum went down but overall, this is my first time posting.
Whee!

Like you had to be forced at gun-point. *G*

Hi I'm Stephanie! And I'm new to this forum ^_^
I hate to admit it but I didn't know about the Guild before it went down. But I have seen the error of my ways now and hail the Guild merrily! Awesome site and even I'm glad to see it's back up! (er, even though I had no clue about it before hand :-[ )
I will probably lurk like mad, but we'll see ;)
-

bwahahah, I agree with Lucia! Lurk if you must, but its more fun to post every now and again. And I'm really happy at the response of the site being back. Thanks to you! All the suggestions and helpfulness.
Keep up all that you do! I'm glad you are enjoying the site.

Ahahaha! Hopefully, hopefully! Lord knows I'm full of enough sarcastic remarks to fill an entire book. At the very least mebbe I can unleash some of them here ;D
-

*salutes* Aye, aye captain! I will desperately try! I need to practice my forum whoring anyway! ;)
-
Hey Lucia -
If ya need (for the sake of preventing the typical flamewars that result from a funny, good, sarcastic remark)... I can probably brew up a [sarcasm] tag to add to the BBCode list...
...which is not to be confused with "sarchasm", which is the immense void between what you said, and what they got. :P
-

I have spent the last decade on the internet relying on the flat-line-mouth smiley face for precisely that purpose.
But uhm... dude. GirlAnime and Xenokattz are my homies.
Maybe a disclaimer tag? "This person is my homie." Geheh. Or a, "Please don't flame me. I have a warped sense of humour."
:D
-
Iiiiiiiiii was thinking something more akin to...
Hey! (http://www.gambitguild.com/images/sarcs.jpg)You all suck!(http://www.gambitguild.com/images/sarce.jpg), or something... :)
-
Yeah, that works too.
Assuming I remember to use the blasted tag.
(Wanktastic disaster waiting to happen, right here. I swear I'll learn how to mediate myself one of these days... stave off any moderator headaches.) ;D
-
Ok, just for you... and you can even wrap it with the spoiler tag! And it's your mark on the entire [sarcasm]intertube![/sarcasm] You can tell all your friends that you caused it! No more excuses for lurking! :)
[sarcasm]No, really! You can tell both friends![/sarcasm]
Hmm. Something tells me that I'd get my ass kicked even worse, using the new tag...
-
I think it's LOVELY.
Should also prove quite useful too. *can hardly wait to see what drama becomes of this...or the lack of, whatever*
-
*snip*
Hmm. Something tells me that I'd get my ass kicked even worse, using the new tag...
[sarcasm]Oh, that's real reassuring.[/sarcasm]
Hey, look at that. Inaurgural snark! :D
Thanks.
-
Glad to see the forum up and running again. Looking forward to chatting with all of you.
Ravenwing :)
-
Nothing really to add. Just wanted to try out the sarcasm tag. [sarcasm]Totally un-helpful[/sarcasm]
All the cool kids are doing it.
-
I'm Dr. Gonzo. I was here just before the most recent meltdown. Good to be back.

-
I'm so glad this site is back and running again! And as a long-time frequenter by now, I hope it doesn't go offline again!
-
Well, I'll work hard to make sure it doesn't. Welcome back.
Neko
-
'Ello all! I too was here before the last melt down. Glad to see The Guild up and runnin' again. ;D
-
Hi *waves* I'm BJ, Beej here on the Guild. I'm a married mom of three? and I fell in love with Remy the first time I saw him 10 years ago. I'm sure I'm in a huge minority here because I'm not at all happy with the way Rogue treats Remy. (Maybe it's more appropriate to say the way the writers at Marvel have her treat him.)? Anyway hi I'm thrilled that the Guild is back and please don't hate me for not liking Romy anymore. Going off to lurk now...
-
Don't disappear into Lurksville, stay awhile, chat it up!
-
I concur with Spectrum! Don't go to lurksville! Its okay if you don't ROMY, Romy and non Romy fans are welcome. We know we can exist and play well together. So, its not a problem.

I don't know if I ever really introduced myself, but I've been tagging along for the past five years.
I'm Bobbie. Love Gambit. And, well, in regards to an intro, I suppose that's all that matters.
-
*Peeks out from under her rock of anstiness* I'm Nicole... I wrote very angsty Gambit fan fiction... I even have a Gambit tattoo on my arm, since I'm so devoted to the Cajun! It's a pleasure to meet you all! *crawls back under her rock*
-Nicole
-
Dude! You have a Gambit tattoo?! (Got a picture?) ;D
-
*nods* Not the best picture I have on it, but yes, I do... the tattoo above it is of Evolution Rogue as a lil' devil! http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/35840138/
-Nicole
-
That is toooo cute. OMG. ;)
-
It was designed by an X-Men Doujinshi Artist known as Shiritaki... she no longer draws, for all I know... but she made some kick ass Pop art style Gambit Tattoos! I asked her if I could take one of her drawings to have a tattoo done of it, and she happily said yes... and THAT is the story of my Gambit Tat. :-D Now if only I can get a new one on my left arm, so I am no longer lopsided....
-Nicole
-
Hee! That's three types of awesome. How long did you wait between getting the design and getting the tattoo done?
-
Bonjour!
I think at one point I was a member of the ML, but that email died long ago. I'm so happy I found this new forum (thru Lucia's LJ).
I too was afraid the Gambit fandom was dying away. *Promises to be a loyal worshiper member*
-
lol Welcome back! Hope you find the new site to your liking and all. Nice icon by the way.

Honestly? About 2 weeks. Though when I got Gambit done, it was on my bicep, a meaty part of the arm, so I bled a bit... also felt like a bunch of bee stings, but it was Soooooo worth it! I lurve my Gambie tat!
-Nicole
-
Hey all, what's crackin-lackin? :P

Look everyone!!! Killphill is here!! Welcome back to all that have joined and posted thus far. Maybe the lurkers will stop lurking for maybe a moment or two! ;D

Hey my name is Ryan and I am a HUGE Gambit fan, right now I am in the progress of collection every single Gambit comic/appearance he has ever had. Great site, I am looking forward to getting to know all of you.

Bienvenidos, Ryan! 8)

And I can't speell...d...speall--hi!!? ::)
*ROTF*
Honest, that was how I typed it and I'm leaving it that way.
I was here way back in, I don't know, August. I missed it here so much!!
It's good to be around again and I certainly hope that the forum won't
get hacked and stay safe. Friggin' hackers.
-
SBB is the Guild's resident sentinel. If there's anyone who can make these forums hacker proof, it's him.
Welcome back!
-
Heh, never say "proof". Resilliant... sure. :)
-
Okay, I'll amend my statement then. lol All I know is that the site is a hell of a lot more stable.
-

Thanks. Glad to be back.

Neko is in love the with picture that you used for the avatar. It's everywhere. I had like, two banners before I made the one that's currently bearing the forums title, realizing I needed to use that image in order to make sure she liked it. lol
-
:) hehe.
Can't blame her. It's probably THE coolest Gambit picture ever.
....Weeellll aside from any and all shirtless pictures. :-*
-
I think Luce has a Gambit crack pic somewhere, too.
-
Viva la bum!

*throws roses*
Ole!
-
One day I'm going to cry. lol
-
More Estrogen-Poisoning Antidote, m'dear?
-
Yes, please.
Ha.
-
I'm sure fanboys oogle just as much as we do.
They're just more discreet about it.
:P
Maybe not Rems, but you know what I mean.
-
I try to bottle it up real good. But sometimes it escapes. It's harder for me to hide it in real life rather than on the internet. I start talking really fast and get excited. lol My voice is usually fairly slow and deliberate. Which throws other New Yorkers off.
-
When the topic goes to comics, I go on babble mode too. Spit is sometimes involved.
-
Spit, as in disgusted spit? Or talking-too-fast-needs-a-warning-label-say-it-don't-spray-it spit?
Heh.
-
I'd probably go with the latter. lol
-
*hangs head*
Also, I was overweight in high school, wore glasses, had lots of acne, and tended to make a comic book connection to everything that happened in daily life. Fortunately, I hated Cheetoes or else I'd've been a posterchild.
-
In high school, I had absurdly long hair. There really aren't many pictures of me from that time, largely because I'm kinda camera shy. But for some reason girls radiated towards it. I'd have girls braiding it randomly while I was in class or whatever. It was just about to my waist.
It wasn't dirty or anything, so it wasn't gross. I think I grew it out because I figured I'd really never get the chance to have hair that long again. At least if I wanted to work. lol Dunno, maybe when I'll slap some pictures on the real life section of the gallery sometime.
-
This may seem like a weird question but are you a math or physics major? Almost all the guys I know who have hair that long are math or physics majors with the exception of my cousin who was a med-student but he quit to do something about artificial intelligence so I guess that counts.
-
Neither. History with English as a possible dual major. With a minor in secondary education. Still trying to figure out if I want to teach on a high school or college level. If you saw me now, you'd probably never figure a guy like me had long hair. lol Well. Not right now. Since I have no hot water in my apartment still and look kinda gross. Haha. So if you saw me tomorrow, after I have a shower, it'd be harder to tell.
-
Buh-GAH. English? History? Education?
*glomphs Spectrum*
Every girl's crazy 'bout a well-read man. *nods* It's true.
-
I thought I'd like teaching college better but dang, adult students can be much wnakier than high school. The moment I sat back and realised I was having more fun teaching English Lit & Essay writing to 17 year olds, I had to have an early martini. I think despite their bravado, high school students still have a bit of fear/respect/knowledge of hierarchy whereas adult students, especially the ones who've been in the workforce and/or out of school for a while, tend to be know-it-alls. That said, discussions in adult classes are much more fun and high school kids whine more.
-
My plan is to teach English and History at a grade 11/12 level.
Those were important years to me, and the material was stuff that SPOKE to me, y'know? I'd just like to ignite that same passion that I felt in my students.
</idealisticstudentteacherspeak>
-
*petpets*
You are so cute.
/weary cram-school teacher speak
I had great conversations with my elementary/middle school kids about comics though. *L*
-
I try, Katt. I really do try.
*is convienently leaving out the fact that HAMLET is part of the English 12 curriculum...and also happens to be amongst the more bloody of Shakespeare's works, involving sociopaths, swordfighting, and OMGEMOBOIS*
Elementary/Middle School kids are AWESOME that way.
-
For awhile while I was working for a little company that was making stuff for space ships and Apache helicopters and junk... I felt like I was really crushing my soul (you can only grind down glass and quartz for 8 hours a day for so long). So I took a long deep introspective look at what I really enjoyed, and I kinda realized that I loved learning, and wanted to continue for as long as I could. I think a love of learning is integral to becoming a good teacher. Like so many other people, I just want to be there for people I guess. When I was growing up, I didn't really have it easy in school (I moved four times in a single school year in sixth grade), but in high school, there were a number of teachers who inspired me.
The only thing that scares me is standing in front of people. It's probably my biggest fear, but I've gotten a ton better at it. It depends on what part of my personality I have behind the steering wheel. Haha.
And yes, I love reading, writing (I've yet to actually share my writing with people though) and all that stuff. lol My ideal situation is to teach and write comics. Ah, bliss.
Again, if my post makes no sense whatsoever... sorry. Haha.
-
No, you made total sense. And if it's possible, I feel as though I must glomph your further for it.
It depends on what part of my personality I have behind the steering wheel. Haha.
I know exactly how that feels. Completely and totally. I don't think I've ever heard it put better either.
-
Yea, it's just the trouble of figuring out who's driving. lol
-
Spectum is right ............. I LOVE that picture. It is my absolutely favorite. But I do concur with you Mini Wolfsbane, that nearly naked pics of Gambit are also awesome. Ahh the let the fangirl out! bwahahah.
Welcome to the guild.

Hello, all.? My name is Patty and I've never posted on this forum before, but I figured I'd give it a shot.? It's nice now and again to chat with other fans.
I'm not online very often, but I'll drop in whenever I think of it.
I'm recently out of college and working towards getting a good start on the path to a career involving lab work.
Gambit is my favorite comic book character of all time.? Lately, I'm angry at Marvel for the Blood of Apocalypse arc and am waiting impatiently for them to fix it.? I think I'm in Remy withdrawal...
Anywho, having rambled for a bit, I will now stop.
-
Welcome Patty,
Ramble away - we all do it. And WE are all miffed at Marvel about BoA - and the character destruction done to Remy.
Post when you can. We love to get every one involved and posting. :)
Neko
-
Welcome to the guild, we're all very friendly here. Feel free to ramble all you like!
-
Hi, I'm Velocity, and I have an addiction to Gambit comics.
(the group: Hi Velocity)
I have this username on several other forums, and y'all can call me V, Vel, or Velocity, I answer to just about anything...
I probably won't post too much, but since it's a Gambit forum...well that might change.? =D
-
Heya Vel. You simply must post if only to get that title "Mark" off your name and end the confusion.
-
Hey there. I'm James. Gambit fan for 14 years now. Aspiring artist, mainly in the vein of comics. Some basic writing, too. I'll pop up every now and then. Thanks for the Gambit Guild. Awesome place! Seems like good people, too.
Cheers!
-J

Welcome James! Would love to see some of your art in the gallery!

Names Damien. my internet name has been dl316bh for about 8 years, since the day I first got on the internet, and it's not likely to ever change.
I've lurked here for a bit, and I figured maybe it was time to go ahead and sign up. I'll definitly be around, and this is one of the few forums I frequent, aside from Raven and Beast Boy Shippers United (RBSU), The BBxRae Shrine (TBRS) and Metroid Fan Mission.
I'm a moderator at TBRS and while trying not to sound arrogant or anything, even I can't deny that I'm an important part of it.
I'm scripting an animated fan movie on the Teen Titans/X-Men crossover, and I slipped Gambit in there, considering I'm a big fan of his.
I've mostly kept up with DC Comics of late, due to anger at Marvel, but I collect trades and storylines from both companies and strive to build my collection to include all the good stories.
On one final note, I am a HUGE Batman fan, so much that on RBSU and TBRS I'm regarded as the "Resident Bat Historian".
It's a pleasure to meet all of you and I'll see you all around.
Once more, dl316bh. Like the infamous rule of the immortals, there can be ONLY ONE.
-
Make sure to link the fanvid as soon as it's finished. It sounds really interesting.
Oh, and welcome to the Guild!
-
Hiya!
I wanted to introduce myself instead of just lurking around. I love Gambit, especially fanfic (if you have any recommendations please send them my way!). I guess that's about all.... Later!!

hey all i'm Justin, i'm 24 and i've been a fan of R&R since the first days of the cartoon series. Who wouldn't?
.. ok don't answer that. I live in New Zealand where comics are expensive, scarce and so not worht buying. I'm originally form minnesota where i stil have half a box of x-comics sitting arund for my dad to send me XD
... I'm also a japanese culture fan -- so if you like jrock or anime just hit me up, i got a community i run elsewhere that focuses on that aspect :P
... yea random fact about me: i've realized theres randomly alot about me that coincides with gambit to an extent, just not as dramatic lol. So between me and a girl i'm kinda involved with, she's my southern belle and she goes by "Justin's southern belle" on her msn, and on the freenode polyamory channel i go as RemyPsy lol.

welcome to the Guild!

Hi all!
Please allow me to introduce myself I'm a woman of wealth and taste >:D

Hi all,
I'm English (so please excuse the spelling) and was a big comic fan until recent years (i.e. when Fabian stopped writing Gambit and Claremont came back) so forgive me if I'm a bit out of date on Remy's latest retconned past/powers/whereabouts/dealings with death etc. Hopefully now the guild is back I can catch up again!
Um, what else; I'm into fanfic, filk and most Remy related frivolities, but don't worry I'm not that much of a rabid fangirl!

Once again it's Shinatoa, back from semi-death and hoping to jump back into conversation. So um... yeah, I'm going to post now. :coolsmiley:

Holee Crap. The Gambit Guild Lives! And Neko is still here!
Hi, I'm Nico, formerly known as my old penname Lady Lyte (also Lytefynger). I enjoyed the former list and web page, and then it exploded. I haven't read a comic in four or five years. As Towelie would say: I have no idea what's going on... But from the looks of things, I haven't missed much. I was in an Barnes & Noble the other day and picked up an X-Men. No Gambit. Uncanny X-Men. No Gambit. Ultimate X-Men, Amazing X-Men? Astonishing? Phantasmagoric? Where the hell is he!?
What? Gambit's dead? Death? Blind and dead? A Marauder? WTF, Mate?

Hey, Hey, Hey!!!!! It's Lady Lyte, Lytefynger or now known as NicoPony! I've been wondering about you, and always hope you are well. It's been ages Lady!!
Gambit is in the trades that feature Golgotha, Bizarre Love Triangle and Blood of Apocalypse. And there are two trades that covers the second solo series.
He was powerless, the powered again, to be blinded, then healed .... to eventually become a pawn of Taco Lips.
He hasn't been in the books since they turned him into Deathbit. Deathbit is DeathGambit. He became the horseman Death. Last we saw Gambit he and Sunfire left and were with Sinister. And he's still Deathbit. He looks horrid.
I've done an update in repository (history section). Will have another one soon getting up to the Peter Milligan run. On the solo series now leading up to those Xmen issues. Xmen issues 166-187.
The mailing list isn't that busy, certainly died down after the popularity of message boards, myspace, LJ's and the like. More interaction on those forums than a mailing list. Though, I know people who would disagree with me. The mailing list still exists and still operates, its just that most people don't post there very often.
Post often, its great seeing you on the board. *hugs NicoPony*
Neko
-
Oh noes! I spent the entire dreary day reading the TPB's I bought from Amazon (with the exception of Bizarre Love Triangle; the USPS decided to EAT that book). Now I'm somewhat caught up. I forgot how damn WORDY Claremont was. It's amazing he leaves enough room for the pictures.
I don't remember comics being this BAD before I left. Didn't I enjoy reading these at one point? Anyway, I don't blame Gambit for flaking out and joining TacoLips. If I'd been kicked around that bad, I'd go nuts and dive in with the X-men's greatest enemy. It was rather cringe-worthy to read. Have these writers ever been in a relationship before? The conversations between lovers are really very strange. If my husband referred to me as "babe" or "sweetheart" I'd think he was on drugs. I did think the kiss through the space-helmets in "Golgotha" was kind of cute though.
I digress. Now, if Remy wants to do away with his past, why the heck is he with Sinister at the end? Isn't that rather contradictory? SIGH.
Now, is Colossus alive? And Psylocke? I thought they were ded. But Jean is ded, right? Still? And Scott and Emma are romantically involved? Ew-ness.
-
Yes, Colossus and Psylocke are alive again.
Jean is dead.
And Scott is doing the nasty with Emma.
Anyway, yeah, CC was always wordy. And sounds like you've read some Milligan stuff. Most of his issues start out okay, but once we get a second issue it starts going down hill. And by the fourth you're thinking "wtf?" ...
Ah well.
You are almost caught up.

Canemacar beat me to it. Trust me, you saved braincells since everyone who read BoA, even people who hate Gambit, ended up headdesking.

Hi, also a returning member, I was surprised to find that I had actually already registered to use this forum. I've been a Gambit Guild follower for a very very long time, I wish I could remember when. I was probably 14ish, and I'm 21 now! Did I even have a computer then? I remember being scared to go on it coz I thought everyone who used the computer would know what I'd been looking at. And I remember not being able to remember the url exactly and panicking that I'd never find it again!
I remember when the forum was just one long page where people posted just straight onto the page no pretty boxes, nada. Bourbon Street I think it was called? With like 2195 after it or something? My my my.
I'd really like to get the mailing list back on it's feet, it felt like a place of serious discussion, whereas on the forums, people come and go so quickly. Not that I'd stop using the forums, hopefully I'm back for good :)
-
I remember that forum. It was all green. ;D
I think it would be great to get the mailing list rolling.
Welcome back to the forum and site.
I do think serious discussion does happen on this site. You'd be surprised.
Neko

Greetings and Salutations, mes amis!
I haven't kept up with the X-Men in a few years, but have always believed Gambit to be one of the greatest comic book protagaonists of all time. Found this site thruogh searches and LOVE it. Thought I'd join and maybe find some small way to contribute
-
well Mikey Pisan , let me be honored to be the first one to greet you to gambitguild :coolsmiley:
We are a strang little bunch here, but don't be shy and write whenever you want in the forum.
/winterwolfen

Welcome Mikey!
Glad you found the site and forum. Fun group of people we have here. I'm sure something will come up that you'll contribute too. ;)
Neko
-
Welcome to the guild. Don't be shy and have fun.
-
Wow, I think my hello on this thread is long overdue!
But I think most people have had a chance to get to know me, either through chat or reading my posts! I've been a long time Gambit lover...oh we're looking at 10/11 years here, ever since I started picking up X-Men comic books when i was 12 years old!
This is my first membership to the guild, and I have to say I thoroughly enjoy this site, and its people! I'm overjoyed that I'm not the only stark raving mad Gambit lunatic out there who will scoff when all Gambit gets in the X-Men movies is his name on a list of mutants in X2, and cheer wildly at a Wolverine mention in 'Transformers,' etc, etc, etc.
Alors, laissez les bons temps rouler!
-
okey day, so I'm not new...but personal life got in the way of getting on forums and then a Harry Potter binge moment...but read a couple of fanfics and comics and now can get on the computer more so definately will try to post more and stop lurking.
anyways I'm back!

Welcome back to the forums Master Lurker Velocity!

Welcome and I hope to see you in chat.

I'm new here, and I just wanted to say Hi. This is a wonderful site, and I look forward to being a member. :)
Rhonda
-
Welcome and your avatar's really cool.
-
Thank you! It's from a sketch card by Dave Brewer. I'm a bit of a Gambit sketch card addict. If you're interested, you can see more of them here:
http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryDetail.asp?GCat=14629
I have a question about the gallery. I used to have a Gambit website, and I saved tons of merchandise pics from my old site. Is there a limit on the number of pics that I can add to this gallery? I have a lot of pics of shirts, posters, pogs, wallets, hats, pins, etc.. I just don't want to bog the site down with a lot of old pics, so I thought I'd ask first.
-
They have Gambit wallets! :o Sweet! I don't think there's a limit.
-
No, there isn't a limit.
Just take care if using the bulk uploader. It gets a little quirky with too many files at once.
-
Welcome Rhonda! Enjoy the forum. Awesome on the old pics, can't wait to see them.
There is an approval process, but don't let that worry you. With the number of mods we've got, its usually pretty quick on the process. While we have disapproved some things, its because its was the edge of being ... not suitable for 13+ crowd.

Hello!
I'm a new member but kinda lurking on the boards off and on for a while...before joining.
I've been a fan of Gambit and Rogue for what seems like forever then turned into a gambit/logan fan too. (ducks flaming flamingos)
Just wanted to introduce myself and say hello! Nice to meet you all, I look forward to some possible good discussions.
~miri
-
Hi, amiricol. Have fun on the boards and don't be shy. Maybe we'll meet in chat some time. I'm CJ, I've been around here for a while and everyone's nice.
-
Welcome Miri!
Glad you unlurked to post. Welcome to the board and the site. When I'm in a slash mood I like the Remy/Logan pairing, but.. its not always written well. So, I have lost track with the fandom of slash.
Anyway. Loads of things to chat about and some stuff non comic. Enjoy the board.
Neko
-
Hey,
I'm new to this site and figured I should introduce myself. I'm 20 years, I live in North Carolina. From what I've seen on this Site, And I look forward to being apart of it.
-
Welcome to the guild and I hope to see you in chat some time.
-
Hello Spence, Miri and Rhonda,
Sorry, I've been lax about jumping in to say hi (and I was on vacation for a little while :D). Welcome to the Guild. We're thrilled you're here.
Come on in and make yourself at home!
Valerie
-
Hello!!
What Val said! Certainly feel free to drop in and post on the forums.
Neko
-
Hey welcome to the site! Hope to talk soon :gambit:
-
Hello all! As you already know I'm a new addition to the Gambit Guild and I regret not joining earlier.
As soon as I watched X-Men TAS I knew that Gambit would forever be my man and nothing not even bad comic writers would change that. And like amiricol I admit to being a Logan/Remy fan... when it is well written anyway. Moving on it feels great to be included into the Guild so that our favorite Cajun can get the love that he so rightly deserves.
-
Welcome, Spade. Don't be shy on posting or in chat. ;)
-
Hello Spade!
Glad you posted and welcome aboard. Post when you can or want to.
Neko

Thanks I hope that I can be as active as I hope to be and spread the Gambit love.

I'm Zi, and I'm a huuuuge Gambit fan (as I assume everyone is).
I tell you a little about me.... since I can.
I'm a freshman in college, and I'm studying sciencey stuffs. I read more comic books than can be labeled healthy.... and.... I'm all around cool....sorta.....
I'm surprised I never found the Gambit Guild before this..... -shrug- but whatever <3
-
Welcome yeatazi,
Come on in, make yourself at home. We're a friendly bunch :D
Valerie
-
Hahaha Okay....
-
Welcome to the forum! I hope you have a fun time and I hope to see you in chat. (And if I ever need help with something science related I know who to ask. LOL)
-
Alright.
And Thanks.
-
Welcome to the party, Zi! What kind of sciences do you study? Hope you enjoy it , here!
-
Welcome Zi,
Enjoy the stie and the forum.
Neko
-
I'm really good in Chemistry, and pretty decent in Biology.... So I'm thinking about majoring in one, and minoring in the other....
Or maybe Organic Chemistry, or Biochemistry....
-
Ekk! Introductions always make me so nervous. Makes me feel like I?m back at the first day of high school?
<.<
>.>
?.
but heck NO! This is a Gambit Guild of Cajun love and fun happenings! :D
So ? HI EVERYONE! My name is Sammie (a.k.a. Siatsu)
After peepering around the guild (?which I just stumbled upon yesterday. What took me so long to find this place?!?!) and laughing harder than I can remember in recent history at the humorous posting of the guild members, reading up on the info post and just generally being a Gambit voyeur ? I decided to join.
So hello, greetings and salutations to everyone! I hope to chitter-chat with most of you and hopefully make some wonderful, fellow Remy loving friends. See you around the forums. <3
-
Welcome to the guild, no need to be nervous. Have fun and I hope to see you posting and chatting alot.
-
Hi ya'll. Guess it's about time I registered here. I'm an avid fan fic writer and I've been using GG for research for some time now. One of the best resources I've found anywhere. I doubt I'll be all that active in the forum, but I thought I'd at least introduce myself.
Hmm...What's to say? I'm a 34 year old married mother of two boys. I write mainly XMen Fics, many of them with a heavy dose of Cajun spice. Most of my stuff is for mature audiences, so I'm careful where I post them.
Gambit seems to have become my chief muse... :gambit: So I'll probably be popping in and out a bit.
Good night, ya'll.
-
Hey, I'm CJ.
Welcome to the guild. There are many great fan fic writers here and I'm sure you'll be another. I hope to see you in chst and don't be nervous about talking to other members, everyone's nice here. ;)
-
Welcome Sammie and Welcome Ginevra!
I hope you enjoy the site and forum.
It's always good to have more fans visiting and participating.
And another fanfic writer!! Woot. We look forward to reading your work.

Forgive me... I've been bad about about not popping in to say "hi" more often. It's always an honor to welcome new perspectives and personalities to the guild. So... to Sammie, Ginevra, and Rogambit - It's truly a pleasure *sticks out hand for hearty handshake*
*...that, or a hand-out*
-
Hello, rogambit. I'm a Romy fan too. :D There are plenty of others here and I'm sure you'll have a great time on the site.

Hello and welcome!
You're definitely not the only one, but I think we're all holding our collective breaths, waiting to see what Gambit's role will be in the post-Messiah Complex X-world...

HI GUYS! :)
I'm Carlo Lonzanida, from the Philippines.
well, maybe i'm on the only one from the Philippines who's a member of the guild. ;D
i'm 17 years old, and frankly, i just happened to be addicted to Gambit just last week.
i kept drawing home on sheets of paper and scanning it to my computer. :D
i'm looking forward to meeting friends here with the same interest as me: GAMBIT!!

Well... there's plenty of Gambit to go around. Welcome to the Party!

Hi, welcome to the guild. Hope to see you around in chat ;).
-
Hey Guys!!
Brand spanking newbie here. In fact, I'm not even sure I'm doing this right, so please bear with me. :-[
My rather limited experience with X-Men mostly comes from the old school cartoon and the movies. I've been trying to pick up on the comics, but there are just so damn many! lol
I wrote some rather embarrassing fic when I was younger, and am looking to get into it again, once I get a better handle on the character.
Oh, yeah. Also, I'm Canadian, 22, and a psychology student at university.
Hopefully I'll chat with you guys soon!

Hello everyone!
I am new to the forum but old to things according our adorable Cajun.
I do not think I am gonna be a regular poster, since i am member of many other forums and moderator in another one, none of them related to another.
But we'll see what catches my attention most ;)

Hello and welcome to the forum! Aww, I hope you post alot. I'm sure you'll find that you want to because everyone here is very kind and inviting. Anyways, welcome to the forum.

Hello.
I'm finally delurking, after months watching, because you guys were so friendly I just had to say something. I hope it's not some kind of way to atract the little animals out of the woods so you can eat them. :o
Anyway, I'm Brazillian, I adore Gambit ever since I can remember and, for some crazy, crazy reason, I am a ROMY shipper.
-
Hi, ana, welcome to the Guild and don't be afraid... we *like* cute little animals but not for lunch. ;) Have fun!
-
when beej said "we" he was refering to everyone except me...*pulls out hunting rifle* but since your a romy shipper...*puts rifle down*
-
Hee. Well actually *I* neuter cute little animals. Any single one of them I can get my hands on. Cause there are just too many of them that need homes. :)
Ok. Animal lecture aside, neat to have you!

[sarcasm]How did she find out our plan of luring her out? I thought we all agreed not to let them know this until we had them posting ,on average, three times a day! Does anyone remember the three step plan we had?!
1.Butter them up
2.Get them posting
3.Come in for the kill.]
I bet whagent let the cat out of the bag...or perhaps Mikey Pisan... ;D][/sarcasm]
Ahem. I like to make horrible, obvious jokes when first introducing myself.(as you can tell ;))
But in all seriousness, welcome to the guild and we're happy to have you here. They're a nice bunch here. :)

Hello! My name is Zac. I am a huge fan of Gambit, so it made sense for me to check this place out. He is my favorite X-Man. I look forward to chatting with all of you. :gambit:

Hi! Welcome to The Guild!
I'm pretty new here too, they are a fine bunch!
See ya xxx
-
Welcome Ronald and Welcome Mamacitared!
Enjoy!
-
I'm Sara, better known as Berry over at ComixFan. You know, better late than never.
Of course I adore Gambit... wouldn't be here otherwise ;) I'm 25, live out here in Northern California & am a total movie whore.
As far as comics go, I'm current into The Sword, Echo & Runaways. As far as the X-Men go... I kinda don't care anymore. They're all coming off as a bunch of self obsessed @$#holes right now as a whole. Gambit & Angel make my top two, with Rogue... I go back and forth. I sometimes adore her and sometimes want to bash her head into a metal door. Currently, I want her to fall into Narnia never to return. Psylocke was my girl until Claremont destroyed her in 2000.
-
Welcome Sara (Berry),
I remember you from comixfan! Welcome to our forum. Have fun!

Yeah, welcome back. :)
-
Hello everybody!
:)
-
Hi GatoXadrez, and welcome to the forum!
-
I'll say hi here too. Hi guys, I'm a LONGTIME lurker, and the movie moved me to post. I Loved Taylor as Gambit and thought he did a swell job with Hugh/Wolvie. I think we should do a Gambit/Wolverine movie if not just a Gambit movie!
I've been a fan of Remy and Xmen for the last 16yrs when my friend introduced me to the XMen cartoon. I Recall XTAS was so huge Fox was promoting it as the no. 1 cartoon Sat. mornings back when they still did cartoons then. They were even featured on Entertainment Tonight!
-
Hi and welcome Gambit78!!!!
-
Welcome GatoXadrez and gambit78 ;)
-
Hey!
I´m a Brazilian newbie.
Hope I won´t be soo shy about posting here, since my English is not very good.
But I´ll be always reading what you gays have to say.
Nice to join the guild.
-
I knew it! Someone called GatoXadrez could only be Brazilian :2funny:
-
Hi,
Newbie here. I'm planning mostly to lurk but yeah, Gambit was always my favorite X-Man.
As you probably guessed, I'm one of the slash fans, but I am not into shipping wars or die-for-our-ship or anything like that. I simply enjoy seeing characters I like (such as our beloved Remy) getting laid! And whilst I tend to read and write slash with him, I have nothing at all against Remy with women. Hell, I think Rogue/Remy can be very nice... I always loved the flirting between them.
So yeah, just want to say hello, I love Gambit, I'll mostly lurk, and I have nothing against anyone's tastes at all.
-
Welcome Gambit 78, and TheMadSlasher.
I said hi to Gato already. I'm glad to see new folks join.
Enjoy
-
Howdy y'all!
Newbie here :)
-
Hi! Welcome to the forum. I hope you have fun here.
-
Hey thanks for the welcome. And I'm sure that won't be a problem :)
-
Welcome to the forum
-
Neko is in love the with picture that you used for the avatar. It's everywhere. I had like, two banners before I made the one that's currently bearing the forums title, realizing I needed to use that image in order to make sure she liked it. lol
What kind of banner did you used? Is it Custom banner (http://www.ballyhoobanners.com/) or a vinyl banner or what? What are the specific features and characteristics you like about it?
-
wow, I feel my chops were busted. LOL But Spec is right, I do love a certain image that is everywhere on this forum. It's even on the splash front page by my request. Its because you guys are sooo good to me. *hugs all*
Neko

Welcome welcome!
And for me it's a big HELLO! HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!
I've been away for most of the last semester and now I'm BAAAAAAAACK! I've missed you all so! It probably hasn't been THAT long but it feels like it has to me. It's so daunting to try and catch up with all that's been going on in the forums, let alone what marvel have done with big G since I've been "outside".
Although I have of course been thinking of Gambit everyday, it's hard not knowing the progress. and my parents don't have wireless so I won't be on all the time over the summer either. poop. One piece of good luck though is that I passed a charity shop window and spotted a pile of X-Men comics on the floor! So I went past after I'd finished all my uni work about a week and a half later and got 8 or so comics for 99p each! Score! I'll find an appropriate place on the Guild site to let you know which ones, coz I haven't had a chance to read them yet and I want to know if they're important ones or what. It was such a find! And the day after I bought them the rest of the pile (as small as it was!) was gone, so I'm glad I got in there! Random and joyous, doesn't happen to me often!
-
Helloooooooooo!!! I'm back ^^
i missed you so much!
so.. could somebody pls recap what happened the last 3 months????!! heheee
-

Hi, my name is Michael or Miky for the short-names-likers
after a long argument with a friend on a night wotch I scanned the net for Gambit information (never red the comics) and get addicted. Loved the fanfic by the way.
one last thing,it,s been mor than three years since last time I wrote in English (not my firs languege) so be nice with spelling mistakes and my "small letters" problem it's hard to do the switch from one form of writing to another when you rusty.
-
Hi Michael and welcome. :)
-
Welcome to the site. :) Whats your native language?
-
Russian/Hebrew-hard to decide which one

Welcome to the forum. :)

^__^ Hello, as you know, I'm Cassie Maru, and it's nice to meet you! Thanks for welcoming me to this awesome site!
Gambit is awesome <3
-
Just getting back into comics. I was out for about 4-5 years. Would love a synopsis on Gambit's character in the Marvel universe since I have been gone. I am starting off the new year with all three X-men titles. Any suggestions on get the most Gambit for my buck.
Also I love your site. I use to visit it often. The Gambit Guild is what introduced me to fanfic. Thanks for all you do on the site. It's great.
Chay

Welcome back Chay,
Lets see, Mystique changed forms and tried to seduce him. Emma was giving Rogue/Gambit therapy on the "no touch" issue and still ... they couldn't even touch without draining him in the astral plane.
Apocalypse came along and Gambit became the horseman Death, tried to kill Rogue. She dallied a little with a guy named Pulse (he could touch her - it was Mystique's idea). Marvel and stupid potty humor, gave Gambit the power of poison gas. [sarcasm]what a great power huh?[/sarcasm]
He left with Sunfire (horseman War) and they went to Sinister. Sini undid what Poccy had done. More messing with G's head. Gambit is with Sinister again and the Marauders, Rogue with the Xmen.
Xavier fixed Rogue's mind so that she could control her powers. Tells Gambit she's not sure how she feels about them though they did kiss without her absorbing him. So, they are hiatus relationship wise.
Gambit went on a mission where a telepath nudged Sini's handy work and Death is still inside Gambit. So, when he gets uptight Death appears. However, no gas power, just his own power but in addition to be explosive everything dies that has been touched by his power.
Warren Worthington also has "his death" persona with him as well. IMO they are trying to show its not the easy to get rid of Poccy's work and by showing both characters having the same type of issue, its consistent. Only Warren is more at ease with his it seems.
Gambit is still with Xmen, Sinister male form died. And now his female form is running around.
Currently Gambit is on a road trip with X-23, just helping her out.
There might be more I'm missing. There are loads of pages in the gallery you can peruse. Hellbound, X-23, and the Vampire story he was in. Which was pretty good. I liked Hellbound even if it was his alter ego taking the stage for awhile. But it showed a couple of the Xmen that there might not be something a-okay with Gambit.
Enjoy!
Neko
-
Thanks so much Neko. I needed that I stopped reading the comic when he Poccy turned him to death. I had stop a little before but then when that scenario played out I was really pissed and gave up on the Marvel universe. I do like the gallery. I read the little story in X-23 and got my heart a flutter. So I am going to try again. I will definitely pick up Hellbound and back track some of the storylines I missed thanks. Also thanks for the quick reply.
You rock. :gambit:

What Mythogma said :D

Hey again. I am an ancient, ancient member, who was part of the Gambit mailing-list that became the Gambit Guild mailing-list that became the site. I was also the president between Faith and Neko. Some of you may remember me from that distant past, and know me as Karen or as RogueStar. Others may know me as Halla from the CBR forums. I kind of got fed up with Marvel around the Morrison era, stopped reading for a few years, and also happened to go through several, expensive major life-upheavals that made it hard to keep up with my hobbies (hi, moving to the US for grad school and getting married).
Anyway, I've been lurking on the site for months, as I've been getting more and more into comics again, and catching up with events so that all my comments aren't "what?" and "who?". But I've started to feel weird about lurking, and thought it was time to be more active again. So, um, it's good to be back and this is weird and hi all. :)
-
Welcome back. Grats on grad school and marriage. Hopefully things are less crazy for you, or at least enough to catch up on comics again. :)
-
Yay, another familiar face! Missed you Karen!
-
Welcome back Karen!! So great to hear from you again.
-
Allo. New face stepping in. A big Remy fan that stumbled across this site months ago and only just now got the courage to sign up. Haha <3

Welcome Remyssha - enjoy the forum. Looking forward to your participation. :)

Hey, long time LeBeau fan, but also big time x-fan as well. This is my intro, in a day or two prepare for an epic posting by myself. Take care.
So I held off on this one until Rogue finally showed up. –incoming rant- My favorite mutants are Gambit and by virtue of that Rogue as well as Magick and Legion. The former pairing have obviously been mistreated. Gambit went from being one of the baddest H2H fighters, a person whose prep was on par with the likes of someone like Doom, one of the mutants whose skill in manipulation of his mutant powers is rivaled only by FR. In fact FR, Remy and Legion are pretty much (along with Jean Grey/PF and all of her offshoots) are the mutant heroes with the most powerful feats AFAIK. BOA! LOL! For the most part, doubt anyone will do anything with that though there a few select ways worth rekindling it. At the same time Rogue was made to look like a confused damsel for too long which ultimately culminated in a Rogue evolution that was only possible by stripping away the entirety of her core. She’s a hot-headed girl raised by two nefarious mothers that would always cherish and respect physical contact. A character that should be rightfully written as loose lipped with locked hips (lol Sentry trolls). A fireball that never lets others down, let alone the position she holds as a hero. Her killing someone in UA should be ripping her apart. I would love to retcon her and Magneto’s sex life, there at least three ways out, ranging from hilarious to heart-wrenching. Having said that I would love to see a female x-player, it’s just that, it most definitely shouldn’t be Rogue. If anything Rogue should be the biggest canidate to go exclusively lesbian (how do you beat dating Remy?)
Really am glad though that Magick and Legion are actually finally becoming characters, Magick was just underdeveloped and young, while Legion for years, was a walking talking plot device but both have loads of potential as fertile characters.
-
Welcome to the board M.
As for Rogue going lesbian, I believe there to be a Rogue/Black Widow shipper here, so you are in good company! ;D
-
Welcome to the Forum M. :) And that ships name is Rotasha!
-
LOL, nah, I don't ship that. Yet. Really, how many woman in the MU can you actually see going full time lesbian? Not many. Rogtasha, mmmmm, don't know if Black Widow could hang in a LTR with Rogue. But if Rogue went that way? Girl has kissed more people in print than Remy.
-
Rogue has kissed quite a few. [sarcasm]Because touching someone's face was too convenient and actually made sense for taking powers. [/sarcasm]
-
Rogue always has enjoyed getting into a fellas head :D
-
Hi there! Welcome. Nice name :)
-
Hi, guys! I'm Angelica and I'm from Brazil.
Hope to be interacting with you all soon =D ;D

Welcome Angie! Glad to have you here. We have a smiley just for you:
-
Welcome to the forum. :)
-
Hi, Angie) Welcome :)
-
Welcome Angie! :)
-
Hello everyone!
I'm a longtime fan of the Cajun, though admittedly it's been very hard to read some of his characterizations over the last handful of years. I've been loving the Asmus/Mann series, and I'm very sad that it will be ending soon. (I'm a Pete Wisdom fan as well, so you can imagine how much I love Mr. Asmus for bringing those two characters together!) I was hoping that Liu could finally put some focus on Gambit in "Astonishing X-Men," but I guess that series will be wrapping up soon, too? Well, that is the way of things when you are a Gambit fan. As always I will just hope that he finds a new home with a writer who likes him.
I see some names here that I recognize from the old days on the ComiXfan boards: Neko (of course), Faith, anya. . . and I expect there might be a few more. I think I used the username 'Caelimane' back then. Anyway, nice to "see" you guys again, and to the folks I don't know: "Hello, nice to meet you!"
-
Awesomesauce!!! Glad to have you hang out with us. I look forward to your participation. ;D
-
Solid first post :) Welcome))
-
Welcome to the Guild, Acadiane! And I love your name!
-
Welcome! :D
-
Hello. Sorry if I am posting wrongly or I wasn't supposed to bump this topic or anything, I don't completely know what you guys prefer on this forum, just letting you know I'm here. I don't know a lot so to save everyone the trouble (and myself from saying something dumb) I will lurk mostly if I even post at all. There's not much I can do to contribute to any conversations or the forum/site itself, but I recently bought a few comics so if anyone needs scans I could upload some providing I won't get crucified for uploading something that doesn't belong to me/was drawn by someone else. I'm just here to learn more about Remy. Nice to meet you all, I'm surprised that despite the lack of activity on this forum many people still drop by, and I really admire the dedication put into all this so maybe one day I can give back for the knowledge I've gained here. See you guys around and forgive me beforehand if I do anything idiotic. Thank you for your time.
-
Welcome to the board! Lurk or post or what have you. Don't worry about saying anything stupid. I never let stupidity stop me from posting. ;D
-
I'm sorry, once again I'm not sure if this is the place to ask such questions but uhm. . . . . .
Do you guys have like a signature request thread and/or someone that makes signatures? Or perhaps more like a graphics request thread? I'm sorry I'm not asking because I want one, I'm asking because of the lack of signatures on this forum. I haven't seen a graphics request thread but I may have missed it. Sorry again.
Thank you in advanced for your patience.
-
Welcome Saika -I hope you enjoy the forum no matter your preference for participation.
There isn't an official signature thread. But its a great idea, and we might need to whip one together. I'm certain we can come up with Gambit quotes easily.
As for graphics request thread, again no official thread. However, that doesn't mean we can't make one.
As to the gallery, you can upload but it takes a mod to approve. Always been that way. Don't take our slow response occasionally as an issue with the image. Working, life and whatever means sometimes you just don't see the images.
Glad to have you.
-
Welcome Saika :) I hope you will like this place. Do not be afraid to post your thoughts about :)

Hi to all new members *waves* :)

Hey guys, I'm bigstupidjellyfish and I'm an 18 (19 in two weeks) year old dude who shares a home state with Gambit. I first grew to enjoy the character in X-Men: Legends II.
I love video games (RPGs in particular), comics (way too excited about All-New X-Factor, Inhuman, All-New Invaders, and Avengers World), and music.
I hope to be a comic writer some day, and even have a couple of planned original comics, but they are still very rough and I'm still trying to figure things out.
Anyways, sorry about the long hello message, but I can't wait to get to know everyone.
-
Is your username a reference to what Shepard calls the Hanar in Mass Effect 3? Please say yes.
-
Welcome to the forum! A Gamer and Comics guy! Nice. Have fun, post when you would want to. :)
-
Is your username a reference to what Shepard calls the Hanar in Mass Effect 3? Please say yes.
Yep, it's too cool of a name for anyone else to use so I snatch it up when I can.
-
Welcome) It is always good to see Gambit and ME fan ;)
-
Hey everybody, I'm rzerob - R zero B - R 0 B - Rob it's a username I have had since seventh grade. I have been a comic collector since before I was born. My grandfather started a Marvel comic collection for me before my birth. He has collected DC comics for a long time and wanted me to have the opportunity to enjoy something he enjoyed. He let me read them when I was first starting to read. And after I was around 8 he let me pick the ones I liked at the comic book store. The first time I went to the comic book store I was heading for the big names like Spiderman, Superman, Hulk and Batman. But I saw this display case and there was really cool picture of this guy in a trench coat and I was immediately drawn in. Didn't take to long to find out this guy was in the X-MEN. Which became my new favorite comic. I have been a huge Gambit fan since. And the collection hasn't never ended.
-
Welcome to the board rzerob
-
welcome Rob
-
Welcome Rzerob ;) I hope you will enjoy this forum.
I liked your story. Can you post that X-Men cover with Gambit that cought your attention as kid?
-
Welcome rzerob, that's a nice story for a comic fan!
-
Hi, welcome!
-
Awesome story Rob. You've got a cool Grandpa too! Welcome to the forum.
-
Thanks everyone. As for the picture of Gambit that I first saw, I have never seen it on the internet before. It wasn't a comic book cover. And I am not quite sure if it was a poster it was a long time ago. It was of Gambit swinging around on a Christmas cane, he had on a Santa Claus hat. I wanted it, but it was like $50. And considering this character just became (in the last ten seconds) my new favorite, my Grandfather was reluctant to buy it. I did get the latest Uncanny X-men that day, that had Gambit in it. He looked different but I still thought he was cool. I don't know how to post pictures on here yet, and I am still trying to figure out how to change my profile pic. So here is a hyperlink to the comic book I got that day. http://marvel.wikia.com/Uncanny_X-Men_Vol_1_275
-
You'll be able to do links soon. In the meantime, myself or another mod will fix links. We have a required number of posts before you can actually do a link, that is to protect the site.
I'll see what I can do about helping you with the profile picture. Give me a few minutes.
-
my profile
on left is a modify profile listing
click on Forum Profile Information
that page brings up picture part. You can use what we've got or upload one. You can also use a url.
Hope that helps.
-
Thanks Nekobaghira. I will have to up my post count so I can get access to all the good stuff.
When I was a senior in high school I had to write a report on something. We had freedom of choice. I wrote a report about Gambit. The teacher said it was the most interesting report he had read in years. I got a D because I didn't put comic book references, and copy rights. I still have the report somewhere.
-
No problem. Glad I could help. I saw the new avatar you have and knew you got it worked out. It's a nice one too. I like it.
A report on Gambit, how cool is that! Too bad Gambit's charm didn't help you get a higher grade. There was a teacher who read one of my kitten fics and I referenced allot of the books, she called me hardcore! Made me laugh.
Anyway, keep posting away.
-
Hi there! I was a member of the Gambit Guild mailing list in the mid-late 90s, but time and life got away from me and I (mostly) stopped reading comics. I've been a big fan of the Romy relationship since the beginning and created my first web site about the couple while in high school (Sugah & Spice). This experience with web design lead me to choose a career in IT and, now that I've settled down and had a family, I find I have the time to read (and write about) comics again. It makes me happy that the Gambit Guild has survived all this time, and I hope to have the opportunity to get to know you all better.
(P. S. What ever happened to Southern Comfort?)

Welcome Loni. Glad you are able to get back into comics. I have no idea what happened to Southern Comfort. Allot of sites went dark when you had to pay for space.
Which has led to blogs for allot of things.
-
You picked a great time (for Gambit) to get back into comics, Loni! Welcome (back)!
-
Welcome! :D
-
Welcome Loni :) Good to see more Romy fans here)
-
Hey Loni, welcome to the Gambit Guild.

I am so glad to find some fanfictions I loved on this website. I'm fairly certain I used to read some of these a log time ago on other sites. So glad to find them again. My favorites were Thick as Thieves and Blindsight. I literally squeed when I found those and many others here to read again. Although Blindsight was never finished, I still love reading all the other fics and finding a geeky nook of the web again. =)

Welcome Jamezerusaum, we also have new editions to the LL via fanfic.net

Hiya Ladies and Gents! It's been quite some time since I've been here, but I have returned. 8)
I got distracted by shiny stuff, but now I'm back in the fold.
What's new with our Cajun? I recently picked up all of the All New X-Factor. I like it so far, but am paused at issue #2. I couldn't find #3 at any of my local comic shops, so I had to order it. :buck2: The writing is a riot and I love the art. I'm very disappointed that it's getting cancelled though; I just found out about it! :(
Anyways, hello again!
-
Welcome back. Glad you are enjoying ANXF. It's a bum deal that the book is canceled. Hoping Gambit lands somewhere. :)
-
Thanks Neko! Yeah it is! It's a great book.
I hope so too. I'm sure he'll end up somewhere (Hopefully somewhere good!); he always does!

Hi There
I am a big fan of Gambit since the early 90's animation/comic appearances.
I'm also new to this website/Forum, just wanted to say a hello. :gambit:

Welcome to the site, we are happy to have ya.

Welcome to the forum. Enjoy and hope to see you participate. :)

Wow some new blood , welcome and feel at home my friend 8)

Hello All!
I have been a loooooong time reader of the forum and a lifetime Gambit fanatic. I decided to join up because I found a clip of Channing Tatum doing a bit of Gambit at the SDCC and knew everyone here would like it. I, personally, thinks it's not too shabby considering a few days ago he just said that he was still looking for the guy to get it down.
So yeah. My name is Philip McNulty and I have been a Gambit fan since I was 5 years old when the animated series debuted in 1992. I told my dad that one day I wanted to draw that guy (pointing to Gambit) when I grew up. And ever since then, I have made it my goal to get into the comic book industry to give the rightful respect that Gambit deserves. My fiancé is a huge Rogue fanatic and she love her as much as I love Gambit, so I am a big time ROMY guy (which over the years, has been hotly debated on here lol). Also, I'll get this out of the way too, I am a headsock fan. It's just so Iconic. No other person can pull it off. Like Havok. He can't touch that. This new guy in DD? He is a Gambit rip off for wearing it. So that is my feelings on that.
Otherwise, I am currently the artist for William Shatner's Comic Book Series called Man O' War and hoping that Marvel will adopt me as their own so I can right the ship for Gambit in the All-New, All-Weird Marvel land that I have no interest in because they hate 90's comics and hence I'm not that audience they cater too. I love everything about 90's comics. Gambit. X-Men. Jim Lee. Death of Superman. Pizza Hut Gambit collectors poster, book, and cup (all of which I still have). SHAMELESS PLUG TIME: I even started a campaign to draw X-Men '92 when it was announced and was Re-tweeted by one of the X-Men editors: https://twitter.com/AnimatedPhil/status/609519623499853824
So other than that I am quite simple. I love my fiancé, I love my family, I love Gambit, and I love to draw. I once told a friend in college that even though we were best friends, that I am still going to love Gambit more than him. So it is my pleasure to be part of the guild and looking forward to posting, mes amis.

Great to meet you, Philip McNulty ;)
It was the biggest and funniest Hello post ever. Glad that GG joined Romy fan who like headsock too)
I hope you will enjoy your time here!
-
Welcome to the forum Phil - glad to have you. It's nice to have another creative person join up and say hi.
Post a link of some of your art, it would be great to see your style. ;D
Ohhh, there is a required number of posts before a new poster's links work. Just keep posting. In the mean time if you have a link and its not working right, one of the mods here will fix it. We do this to protect the site.

I plan on doing so! Haha. But yeah. I am very influenced by Todd McFarlane, Jim Lee, and Andy Kubert. Those have always been my "Holy Trinity" lol. That pic on twitter is mine. I draw, Ink, and color everything myself. I have to update my main website (animatedphil.weebly.com) with more of my art prints that I sell at conventions (I get lazy sometimes with that site >. >), but some good examples are also on my facebook page (facebook.com/animatedbyphil). I didn't mean it to be so pluggy, but heck. I'm much worse at cons when I have to say that same spiel over and over and over again. haha. :D
-
*chuckles* all good. Folks can find you now and who knows maybe commission something will come your way. ;)

Hello! Welcome:)
-
Welcome to the board, Philip McNulty
-
Officially want to say "hi" to you all. long time stalker, first time poster ;) Been a fan of this forum for years.
Anyways I'm a huge fan of Gambit and Deadpool so it's beyond surreal to be getting solo films for both characters next year. It's also weird to think that both somewhat cult/fan fav characters may become household names come 2016.
One of my earliest memories was watching the first ep of X-Men TAS with my older brother when it originally aired (I was around 5 yrs old). Love TAS (still quote Gambit from it today) and most of the Gambit comics. In my opinion, he was best drawn by Jim Lee. The Mackie/Weeks mini series is one of my personal fav stories.
-
Hi PS, welcome to the forum. Glad to see you post.
I also loved the Mackie/Weeks mini, its one of my favs as well. :)
-
hi all
I've been coming to this forum for news for a while now thought it was about time i signed up
Been a life long fan, I only really got back into comics after Gambits most recent solo
:)
-
Welcome to the forum! ;D
-
Heyo!
I have been through this site a few times over the years but put off signing up. With the Gambit movie and GvD, I figured I might need a support group if the wreck Remy anymore than they have.
Been a fan since TAS and the Sega game X-Men 2: Clone Wars.
Mostly gave up on comics around 2000. From what I have seen. . . it seems like I have missed something akin to a train accident.
Cheers!

Welcome to the forum, looking forward to your posts. :)

Hi, everyone! Huge fan of Gambit/Remy LeBeau here. :D
You can all just call me Reve (I know, I'm being so lazy by dropping the gender article. 'le Reve' is French for 'the dream', in case anyone was wondering).
I am a writer who is hoping to be published in the future. I tend to write mainly for the fantasy genre, but I also write realistic fiction (have actually finished one novel so far that would be categorized as such) and, occasionally, poetry. I have written fanfiction in the past and may again in the future, but that's as close as it gets to short stories for me. I am a novelist! Once I start, I can't stop. ha ha!
Speaking of fanfiction:
I love the Romy pairing and always have, but lately I have found that I enjoy Gambit's tendency to be a "ladies' man", so I have started to like the occasional fanfiction about him with other women (such as Jean Grey). I love everything about his personality and history, including that extremely romantic and flirtatious side of him.
I am embarrassed to confess that I'm going mostly by my childhood memories of Gambit for what I consider to be canon (recent cartoon renditions and the brief movie scene ring true enough for me but I wouldn't place them on the timeline of his life--in my opinion, they are things that could have happened in an alternate universe, similar to how Uatu the Watcher describes events in his 'What-If' realities) in the comic books and the early 90s cartoon that seemed to be based directly off of the comics. I do intend to pick up some comics again soon and try to catch up on what I've missed. . . But I've never stopped loving him in the meantime! Story about why I stopped reading X-Men. . .
I traveled on the road a lot with my family as a kid, and whenever we would stop at a convenience store or gas station on the road they had comic books for sell in these stands between the aisles. . . My 2 favorite series, X-Men and Batman, were immediately within reach and therefore it was convenient to pick up various issues, buy them, and read them. I was such an enthusiast that my dad went out of his way to take me to comic stores--once more, this allowed me access to the characters I loved without my having to take the initiative of tracking them down.
At some point my family put down roots somewhere and comic books were no longer offered to me, and as I stopped seeing them displayed in every convenience store I went to, I just. . . turned my obsession with fictional worlds in other directions, such as more traditional books and eventually fanfiction, once I discovered the internet. Mainly, I think, once I was distracted by Harry Potter I just kind of drifted away from most things X-Men related. That is, until. . . X-Men Evolution and the X-Men movies started coming out.
I have been content all these years to just watch different writers depict their interpretations of the characters I grew up loving, but now I am really wanting to get back into the comics and support 'the real' Marvel characters, especially Gambit!
I have missed out on so much! Can you guys believe I just found out a few days ago. . . after I discovered this guild, actually. . . about Antarctica? I know you will all know what I mean, but I won't say more here. That's for a different thread, I know. But if someone will point me in the right direction so I can be clued in on what-all has been happening with my favorite Cajun, I would really love that!
Anyhow. . . great to meet you all! :)
-Reve
-
Hi, Reve! Nice to meet you ;)
Great first post) I am Romy fan too.
So Antarctica is your last Gambit story?
Yoy need new stories or stories after Antarctica?

So Antarctica is your last Gambit story?
Yoy need new stories or stories after Antarctica?
Nice to meet you too. :) And thank you!
No. To be specific: Antarctica is just a random event that I happened to read about, first on here (it seemed like every other story in the LeBeau Library mentioned it) and then on Wikipedia when I wanted to know more. What I need to know is. . . pretty much everything. What happened before and after Antarctica. lol! And I realize that I probably need to just dive into the comics for that, and that it will probably take me years to catch up.
Still, I would definitely be glad for any summaries that a person could give me. :)

I was avoiding discussions in the 'Hello' thread because I assumed that going in-depth into any topic other than introductions belonged in a different thread? lol

After a couple months and some diligent work by Nekobaghira I am finally able to register to this sight. Thanks again Nekobaghira.
Hello fellow Gambit fans. I've been a Gambit fan since about 1992. I liked him in the comics and then he became my favorite character(along with Rogue) in the X-Men animated series and then I read the 1993 Mackie Gambit mini-series and I was hooked for life. I'm not exactly a comic book aficionado because I had a bunch of years there from my mid-teens to 20 or so when I wasn't really paying any attention to comic books or superheroes. When I got back into it everything seemed really convoluted and I didn't know where to start. It didn't really help that Gambit was being treated pretty badly at this point so it was hard to sink my teeth into much. Regardless of this I've caught up on everything and still know plenty(as it pertains to Gambit) and still try to pick up anything with Gambit in it.
My reason for coming to the GambitGuild is because I was looking for a new site to join and talk about Gambit and the X-Men since imdb closed their message boards. I found this site in my search for something new and saw how detailed it was and read the message boards and saw how knowledgeable and passionate Gambit fans like me there were and decided this was a great site to join. I always had a lot of debates and arguments on imdb but here it seems like we're all on the same team. 8)
I am extremely excited about the Gambit movie coming out. I know plenty of people don't think it's coming out but I think it will. I think they want it to happen and I believe Channing Tatum will try his best to get it done. I also think FOX would love to have a leading character added to the franchise played by someone of Tatum's star power. It's a win-win. The lead up all the way to the film coming out will be a super fun ride for all of us. And if they really are trying to do something special and it turns out being at least "good", at best it could be something of a rebirth for the character and everyone could remember why he is so great, at worst, we Gambit fans will forever have a solid Gambit film to cherish.
Well that's my intro post. Looking forward to discussing my favorite character and whatever else with everyone.
-
Welcome! Glad to have another voice aboard the Gambit train!

Hi there! I remember you from the IMDB Gambit forum--I used to post there as disco-punk. Welcome to the Guild! :gambit:

Thank you, my friends! And no, the wink wasn't too much haha unless there was a devious meaning behind it. I mean, I'm just assuming everyone here is a no-good swindler like our favorite Cajun ;)

Hello! After hanging around here for a few months withiut a login, I realized I'd never get to post without an account, haha. So, I am no longer a lurker and I have an official account.
I've been a DC girl for years, but my husband introduced me to Marvel with the X-Men Animated Series. Now I am introducing myself to the comics by focusing on Gambit (and Wolverine) appearances.

Welcome! I'm primarily a DC person too (unless we're talking X-Men or Spidey). What kind of DC stuff are you into?

My favorite DC character is Cyborg. I am also an all-around fan of the Batman series, but Nightwing in particular, if I should pick a character from the series. I am also a fan of Bombshells.
I watched X-Men: The Animated Series as a kid, but honestly forgot about it until my husband had me rewatch it in October-ish. I had been adamant about not caring about Marvel, but he convinced me to watch that series, and I got hooked into the X-Men. He also now has me watching every Marvel movie ever made, too. He's a tricky man, lol. Apparently in order to see Black Panther I must first watch every Marvel movie, both MCU and non-MCU.

Hell. Yes.

Hi everyone!
I'm a (formerly) lapsed X-fan who recently got pulled back into the mix the moment Marvel announced Kelly Thompson's Rogue & Gambit mini series.
I'm a longtime Gambit (and yes, Rogue) fan who dropped the X-books like a hot potato years ago because of Gambit's horrid characterization by a slew of X-writers (ooo, bitter much?). Anyway, things are looking up for the Cajun I think, so I thought I'd sign up instead of lurk. ;)

Hello! I'm Riley, but online you can find me as CajunCajole. I'm a freelance artist and have done some freelance work for Marvel last year.
I've been a Gambit fan since his first appearance and being Cajun myself, I appreciate Marvel for allowing him to be created. I actually told Jim Lee this past weekend at MegaCon in Orlando, "Thank you for creating a Cajun. " to which he replied. "You're so welcome. " with a smile. Thanks for having me!

Hi! A friend kept telling me to come check out this site, so here I am. I didn't really start reading comics until X-Men Gold #30, but I've read some of the highlighted back issues for Gambit, Rogue, and their relationship.

Welcome to the forum, Soca.surfer! We have the bbq going outback and a fair selection of drinks. Enjoy your stay but watch your fingers when we sound the dinner bell.

I wanted to stop in and say Hey, Hi, Hello,
I came across the forum and had to get in on the Fun. I'm Gary by the way. Spent some time reading over the guild site. I never knew the impact that Gambit had overall with people. For me Growing up watching a show with someone I could relate with and was also Cajun. Good times

Welcome NYC!
And Merry Christmas to our Gambit Guildies who celebrate the holiday!

Welcome Gery :)
Merry Christmas, everyone!

Glad you decided to hang with us Gary! Welcome.
-
Thank you for the warm welcome. Hope everyone had a good Christmas or holidays.

Hello, I'm J. If you'd like you can refer to me a my username.
My history with Gambit. I grew up watching the animated series, the live action movies, and I was encapsulated. I wanted to know more about these people and their story. I got into comics and then I started hyperfixating on his character. I always awed his character. I think he is my favorite Marvel character.
-
Welcome! I’m obsessed with Gambit too. You’re in good company.
-
Welcome J!
-
Hey,
I’m Rose :)
I love reading comics & and writing and reading Gambit fanfic
I’ve known about the Gambit Guild for a little while, but it somehow never occurred to me that it was still active up until I saw the news on Ao3, and decided to check up on the website. This looks… a lot more alive than I expected to be honest!
I’m not a Romy fan, but I’m also not a rabid hater. It sure will never be THE main reason I read a fic.
I will read darn near any other interesting Gambit-ship I come across, though. And Gen-fic too. Especially Gen-fic, if I’m being honest.
The Nicieza series is what I think of first when I think ‘Gambit comics’, and I can’t be bothered to keep up with the Krakoa-Era.
I’d like to say I’m not obsessed with Gambit, but I’d be lying
Oh, and I also love ugly ‘action figures’. Like these little things that are made out of this tacky plastic and are so bad, they are good, in a way. Or at least hilarious.
-
Welcome to the Forum Rose. I hope you have fun.

Hi, y'all! Just got into Gambit a few days ago. But I got REALLY into him! And I love that he's Cajun! I live in Louisiana, myself!
But there's so little out there! Anyone know where I can find Gambit fics for Gambit x reader or x original character? I can't find any.
Call me Harley, by the way!

Or just fics without any romance. For Gambit.

Hi HarleyC13,
Welcome to the guild. I hope you find what your looking for fic-wise.
My best advice is FF.net or AO3 (Archive of our Own).
I don't think I've seen a fic based on the criteria you've described. Not much new material Gambit as it is, most Rogue-centric these days. There is older material out there, you might something you like. :gambit: :D
You can scroll through the library here and maybe find something but I don't recall anything matching.
Fic's without romance is out there, its just older material and not much in the way of new with just the action/adventure genre but there is some. Good luck on the hunt.
Again, Welcome to Gambit Guild, and Hi!
