Excalibur is plain bad. The plot is messy, convoluted, and incompetent. Gambit isn't the only one who's out of character (this time around he came off as petty  and hurtful), all of the other characters are too. The art is good but some of the transitions between panels/pages are badly executed. What a waste of time.

That's fair but I'm enjoying the heck out of other books that don't have Gambit in it. If he wasn't, I would have given this book a shot still. The only thing that kept me in this far is his inclusion. I would have dropped this book after issue 1. To be fair, I'm not feeling Marauders too much either, haven't read 2 yet, but 1 was all about Kitty, and frankly I'm over that angle in X-Men. However, I want to see where Bishop's investigation goes.

Marauders #2 was was better than #1, but not by a huge margin. Little pander-y, too whacky, didn't address two out of four subplots from the previous issue.

New Mutants and X-Force are the two standouts for me. X-Force's second issue was a lot better this week.

X-Force is the only quality book from DOX.


NM is quit funny.


All others are not good and meh for me.

Beast Kingdom Figure?
I'm not an expert but from what I understand, only Wolverine, Cyclops, Jean and Magneto are the only X-Men to get one...and Gambit comes 5th? Not bad...
Hopefully the Pop Vinyl isn't too far away and we'll get a preview soon, I hear it's coming in April (the Pop).

It is a funky design, but I guess that’s their style? If they only have a few X-men figures, then that’s cool. I am still crossing my fingers for that funky pop...

Not sure if this was brought up. But Gambit is in the 'Incoming' cover. The original title obscured his body. This is a slightly altered cover with the title moved...and there you see Gambit behind Thing at the very top.

Finally read Excalibur 3. Not because I couldn't, but because I didn't care to... Issue 3 was better than 1 or 2 purely from a narrative standpoint but not nearly good enough or interesting enough for me to continue buying this. The best part for me was the end with Pete Wisdom who should be a team member or at least a regular.


Tini continues to write Gambit as whinny and her dialogue is still very choppy in places. She's now portraying Jubilee as annoying mother type and Betsy as obsessed with her brother, despite the danger it puts her friends in. The book's not good and is begging for stronger editorial oversight.

I care so little for Excalibur that I flipped through it looking for Gambit, saw he's still whiny, and completely forgot to read it through.

It takes a lot to discourage a Gambit fan.

The Gambit fandom hasn't had much in story for some time. Its disheartening.
