It's reported that the movie has been put on hiatus until a new director is found. And now it might even be shot in Montreal instead of NO

Yeah, I don't mean to be negative but I have a feeling Verbinski leaving may have been the final nail in the coffin. Can't imagine how Tatum's feeling about all this. Poor guy

get paid without making the movie I think. Anyway, doubt that's it. CT seems like he really wants to play gambit. But honestly I think he is the reason for all the holdups

Yeah, I guess I don't know the guy but it doesn't seem like he'd pull something like that. I could definitely see him being particular on how the movie is made, though, which would explain the delays and director problems

agreed, he wouldn't. But its disheartening, this movie takes one step forward than 3 steps back. I'll actually be pleasantly suprised at this point if it goes ahead

I think the issue with Tatum and Verbinski is that Tatum wants Gambit to be at or close to the same level of quality as Logan. While we all like the original Pirates movie, Verbinski is not the guy to do that.

You can't help but think that Tatum has a lot of control and a pretty specific vision for this movie and maybe that's part of the reason for the revolving door for directors. But I can't help but think by director #3 they should have most of this stuff sorted out by now. I am officially completely confused now when I was very confident before. It's worth noting that each director has gotten bigger in name. Though I wouldn't be shocked if the final director wound up being a smaller name.

I feel you there. But who knows what's going on behind the scenes. I'm sure each director has had a different vision so they wouldn't want to stick to whatever the previous director had, which would be exhausting from Tatum's perspective
