I'm not gonna lie...I love that cover. I love the homage to X-Men 24.

And I love the fact that Gambit, Rogue, and Deadpool are on a team together.

It's a pretty mixed reaction on cbr.... some love it some hate it. Big concern seems to be that people are worried about it being legacy 2.0 with gambit used as a prop esp with the human torch rogue medusa thing floating in the background.

On the one hand I strongly dislike Romy and hope we don't go down that road again. I also hope we don't have a repeat of Legacy.

But on the other hand, Gambit joining the Avengers has been something I've wanted for years. I'm hoping that's where the story goes.

But I've got a bad feeling that Gambit's going to be turned into a bad guy or die from the death cloud thing.

Well, that stinks.  I hope Gambit is handled well and not as a prop to Rogue like Xmen Legacy.  And as long as he's an equal and isn't Rogue's purse, I can deal with it.

I agree. I know Duggan is a fan of Rogue, but not Carey superfan. I also rember when he was first writing Deadpool he did a Reddit AMA interview and said he loved all things 90s and even brought up Gambit being best as the "Anti-Hero" like when he first debuted and loved the fact that nobody trusted him except a few like Storm.

I also take everything Breevort says with a grain of salt. I know he said before that Gambit for as much as he is liked, he has those that dislike him (I know cause I asked him a question right after Gambit Origins comic came out if he was not going to be wallpaper in Legacy anymore). He talked about how everyone hated Wolverine joining the Avengers and upsetting the X-Men fans.  So I think that since Deadpool is on the team and now possibly Gambit, he could be referring do the dwindling of actual X-Men in X-Men books. Just my opinion.

But I also think since we as Gambit fans have been screwed over so many times, we all leap to death first. haha

Wow!  That is a stunningly beautiful cover.  I love it too!  This has caught my interest for sure.

Yep, I have my worries as well.  And yeah, Gambit potentially being turned into a bad guy is my biggest one.  My second biggest worry is him coming in just to play on Rogue's feelings for his benefit(and to the detriment of the Avengers) and completely destroying their friendship/relationship.  Marvel does not have a good track record with how they handle their characters now.  Sadly, almost everyone seems to be written out of character these days.

These issues are actually what is going to decide whether I keep collecting Marvel comics for the foreseeable future.  This whole Secret Wars nonsense has really made me lose a lot of interest in the Marvel Universe and none of the solicitations until this one had reignited that interest.  Depending on how this goes, my Marvel comic collecting days may be done for good (or I will at least be taking a nice long break).

Don't like hearing this at all. That does seem to be Marvel's modus operandi nowadays though.  Unfortunately, doing stuff that annoys lots of fans actually seems to sell too.  I will never understand that.
