Gambit: The Motion Picture Soundtrack
« on: October 02, 2016, 11:27:05 AM »
We talked about the ideas of songs that we'd like to hear in a Gambit movie. Thought it'd be cool to throw out some ideas here and then trim it down to like 10-12 tracks. Most of the music was 90s based, and seeing as the next X-Men team movie will probably be in the 90s, lets assume the solo movie for Gambit will also be around that time. Here are the rules:

1) The songs cant be any newer than 97' (so that or older)

2) No specific genre, whatever makes you think of Gambit just give a short description of a scene or part where it could be; for instance after leaving NOLA; background music in a club; while breaking into a museum etc.

3) If you have more than one, put them in order from favorite to least favorite so they can be placed accordingly

Rogue being flung vagina-first at the first male that pops up on her radar isn't how I'd define "romance," but Marvel must be using a different dictionary than me.- NicoPony

My song is Stone Temple Pilot: The Big Empty  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XSMK1lZzCr0

Technically from the soundtrack of another comic book movie from the 90s (The Crow), but I think it plays well for a street-level anti-hero down on his/her luck. I could see this playing funny enough just before the credits roll as perhaps the movie doesnt necessarily have to end on a "high note". Like Gambit coming to a realization of some sort that we the audience thought was wrapped during the movie but ended being something else entirely which spins off into another movie.

I feel like Tom Cochrane's Life Is a Highway  kind of describes Remy's wandering town-to-town kind of vibe.  Rascal Flatts also re-recorded that song but I refuse to link that version on principal.  :D

Fight scene... oh yes.
For fight scenes I'm going with "Raining Blood" by Slayer.

I wasn't expecting anything quite so... Upbeat.

100% right, he read Harry Potter and loves Star Trek, but thats a song you'd hear at Disney World attraction!  ;D

Or on Classic Rock Radio ... especially in Canada. LOL.

I like upbeat songs for Gambit. Makes me think of the road trip with Wolverine. Not sure why but I could see them jamming out while driving a sports car.  ;D

The most awkward car ride ever. I could see the arguing over the radio. I don't see Wolverine as a radio playing person. If I got into his car I'm sure his radio face will have claw damage!

Speaking of upbeat, Only the Good Die Young by Billy Joel kind of reminds me of Remy and Belle.
