Eh... this is actually the least impressed I've been with anything having to do with this series.

Daniel Ketchum released from Marvel

This thread is as good as any I guess.

The reason I put this here, is he was the guy who was to edit Iceman's book.
My concern is Iceman's book could be shortened or cancelled earlier. It will depend on sales but .... who knows.

He was also one of the staff behind Gambits last solo and a Gambit fan

Yes, he was. Especially the opening shower scene and gave input on certain things in the book. He seemed nice to fans too.

Yeah, making the guy who occasionally wears pink gay would be a bit on the nose.
Rogue being flung vagina-first at the first male that pops up on her radar isn't how I'd define "romance," but Marvel must be using a different dictionary than me.- NicoPony

Interesting if doors for Asmus will be still open after this.

Bi and gay aren't interchangeable. Gambit being in the middle of the Kinsey scale (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kinsey_scale) makes sense to me.

Bought it, read it. Not sure what to think about it.

It just jumped in, there was no thought process on Iceman's part of his recent outing. None. He's joining a dating site to find a guy. His parents don't know nor did he tell them. The fight scene with the purifier was done well. Not sure if I'm hearing Iceman yet or not via the dialogue. I would confess I'm not as familiar with him.

It took me far too long to read it too. That is, I could put it down and not bother picking it back up. Not a good sign. LOL

I actually thought it was good. Despite how I feel about his outing, how he was outed, that he was outed, whatever.. It was an enjoyable issue for him. Most of it sounded like Bobby. Didn't really care for the "Bobert" line, because I just don't think he would seriously ever go by that name for the right guy or girl. The art fits the book very well. Bobby's dad is still a giant douche who has more heart attacks than any living person should. I'll be sticking with it for at least the first arc to see how it unfolds, since it is Iceman after all. The preview for issue 2 is very promising.

Funny you mention the part about his parents. That is the one part that just dragged for me. It was my stopping point. I forced myself to get through that section.

Polaris was referenced, and I thought that was nice.

I agree.. the part with his parents is getting a lot of praise elsewhere, but it wasn't the highlight of the issue for me. His fight with the Purifier was. Cracking jokes and completely toying with the guy. That was fun to read.

Agreed. The issue definitely picked up once he was doing this thing and fighting the Purifier. While I liked the spiky Ice look, he did look a little boxer like.
