The Umbrella Academy season 2
« on: August 09, 2020, 04:49:44 PM »
It had moments of fun scenes and a few other things but I found myself a tad bored with season 2.
There was just too much of some elements and not enough of others. Overall, it was alright but I think I liked season 1 better.
Or maybe I had too many expectations. Who knows.
anyone else watch it?

I actually just finished it today.  I enjoyed it just as much as the first season though.  I liked that a lot of the characters started getting their crap together lol and I really liked the cliffhanger(can't wait for season 3).  Spoilers- At first I was disappointed that Allison got married again(and so quickly too).  C'MON Allison! lol.  But I ended up enjoying that aspect of the season too.

It's trending well, and there seems to be lots of peeps who liked season 2. There are lots who don't either. Quite the mixed bag.

I liked Allison's storyline, which was all showrunners/writers. None of that was in the books.

I was more entertained with Five meeting Five with Luther trying to keep them from killing each other.

Dave punching Klaus bothered me but not unexpected for the time period. Dave must have been looking for him was some growth for Dave but that whole thing really messed with Klaus.

I couldn't stand the Vanya/FBI scene, it was too long, just too long. I did like how Ben was able to reach Vanya and I was sad that Ben disappeared in that scene or 'went into the light'.

I liked the cliffhanger too and was happy to see Ben again.

Ah, okay.  I have not read the comics, so that might also affect how how see this season as well.

Yep, I was not surprised how that scene went down at all.  I felt bad for Klaus as well.

Yes!  I loved the scene where Ben sacrificed himself to help Vanya.  That may be my favorite moment from the season.

[/size]I am not that excited about the alternate timeline Ben(he just won't be the same, having lived a totally different life) as much as I am just the opposite Sparrow Academy team in general.  That is going to be crazy!  Plus the scenes I am most looking forward to are the ones between the Umbrella Academy siblings and Reginald Hargreeves.  The scenes between them and him this season were also among my absolute favorites(especially between him and Diego).

I never read the books. I looked up the differences between the source and show to find out what was changed. Which is how I found out the storyline for Allison was the showrunner's choice. Of course with source author's approval. :)

I am not a fan of the writing or the art but I do know there folks who love the source material. It's not for me.

S1 Klaus was the most changed, then Diego, Vanya and Five. Most of the changes made sense from various views, production costs, cgi and whatnot. Other changes made were due to not viable in today's media.

All I can say is wow, what a disappointment. Netflix decided on six episodes to end it was a disaster.  I won't spoil, I kept Netflix to watch this and it was unlikable. Maybe, it's just me.  I binged it, I'll try a second viewing for no reason.

I know why the producers did what they did, it's either keep an actor or age the actor.
Plot holes galore, smh. Anyway, I'll wait a few weeks before spilling tea, which is needed. LOL. If you are keeping up with TV show - go into it with low expectations. :)

What happened? Umbrella Academy season 4 (final) totally tanked. 8/8/2024 release date. How did the writers and producers screw this up so badly. It does not help they short changed with episodes. It needed eight to ten. (I know - COVID).

I don't even know where to begin: Plots Holes galore.

Change of powers with Allison and Viktor probably due to Harlan not that it gets a mention. I'll have to re-watch for that one line on the power return. Allison isn't an 3:), and Viktor is in the fix it lane with Reggie, which is where Five should be, doesn't make sense. I get it. They had to age Five or re-cast Five.

Where is Ray? Allison sacrificed everything to get her daughter (she has her and Klaus), how or why? No explanation, Klaus gets used for his ghost powers and eventually buried alive, he's immortal and can go 'home' - his realm is the "Void" and can return and yet doesn't? WTF

More plot holes: Sloane, Luther gave up on her; his wife (who knows what happened to her) and he became a pole dancer who wears thongs? WTF. Now, that is an image that can not be unseen.

Diego and Luther buds? WTF, I didn't recognize Diego, he was so different. He has kids with Lila, great - one element that was a good follow through. BUT - Lila ends up sleeping with Five. WTF - they hated each other and now they are lovers? Yes, Diego finds out. smh.

Ben and Jennifer got too much story, I understand it. Explain it, okay. Did they need so much screen time, NO. imv.

Reginald's wife is the bad guy??? Three seasons to save her and they dislike each other and she is the one to ruin the world. When did they break up, divorce and not be roaches to eat the earth when at end of season 3, he gave her the world. Wow, Reggie should have left her on the Moon.

Okay done. I looked forward to this season for so long. I expected better. smh.
