Pere's art looks great here. His Peggy is superb.

Polaris is my other favorite.
I really liked Remy and Lorna too. I mean, I'm Romy all the way...but at that time Rogue was linked to the likes of Human Torch and Deadpool. It would've been cool to see Remy briefly hook up with a more well-known character like Polaris. Had a lot of potential.

I’m actually looking forward to this. Not really a fan of AU but more Gambit is always welcome. Hoping he is written well in this. I like how he seems to have nothing to lose; just hope he doesn’t mope around due to the woman he lost. It’s Rogue, right? It’d be cool if it wasn’t, though. I wonder if he’s being attacked by her zombie randomly or if he hesitated.

That Gambit is giving me palpitations.

More, we need more.

lol, I’m not quite sold on ‘Larry the cable guy’ design, but the art is nice.

The whole "it has to be a "hot" actor" stuff to me reeks of fan-girl stuff.
Oh, no! Not fangirl stuff! Not fangirls that are a huge contingent of Gambit's fanbase!

I am a proud fangirl of Gambit. There is nothing shallow about wanting the hottest member of the X-Men to actually be hot IRL. It is an important aspect of his character. I can care about Gambit's looks AND the writing. I wholesale reject the notion that I somehow have to choose between those two things.

It's Rogue. In one of Perez's designs his Queen of Hearts card had her face (and white streaked hair) on it. There's a zombie version of her in the previews.

True, forgot about the card. That's why I mentioned the zombie. Without the text it's hard to tell if Gambit was just being attacked by her zombie or was shaken because it's her.

;D Sensitive. Look, I've been waiting for a proper Gambit in a film for over 20 years. Just trying to be realistic at this point. As long as the actor can pass looking legitimately like Gambit, and all those other things are in place I'll be happy. Who the fangirls deem acceptably "hot" will vary and sets you up for dissapointment. Some girls think Tatum is a hot Gambit some think he isn't attractive at all and it ruins the character. I'm fortunate enough to not have deal with that sort of thing. There will always be little things to nitpick, but not ruin the whole experience for me. Like I said if the writing and performance is spot on then most will find him attractive. It would be a shame to check out of enjoying a character just based on the actor not measuring up to a desired level of "hotness", physically speaking.

Well, your use of words was *very* unfortunate. No one here is saying that, actually we said the opposite many times, that looks are one very important aspect of the character, and not that an actor should be chosen based solely on looks. No, if the actor doesn't look the part, we won't find him attractive based on acting only. It's a combo.

ETA: We have all been waiting for Gambit for over twenty years. I don't have to be satisfied with just anyone.

Ryan Reynolds says Marvel is 'obsessed' with Channing Tatum's Gambit after Deadpool & Wolverine

https://ew.com/channing-tatum-gambit-marvel-obsessed-ryan-reynolds-8741358

"I honestly don't know what goes on behind closed doors in the bookkeeping sessions at Marvel, but I do know that they're obsessed with him in that role," Reynolds says of Tatum's card-slinging Cajun mutant on Entertainment Weekly's Awardist podcast.

"It's kind of like the same situation I went through. Once you show that it works well, that's really what they need. Sometimes they just need to see it in action.""And Channing is so singular in how he plays that character," Reynolds continues, "but also he's so beautiful physically, the way he moves and the way he can pick up steps.

"However, whether or not another go is in the cards for Tatum isn't yet known. "I hope so," Reynolds remarks.

I love how combative we can be on this character.

I mean that by the way. We're all passionate and opinionated.

When my son saw his fight scene, the one when he's "dealing" the cards to all the goons during the battle, he asked me if Gambit was a dancer or if he did "dance-fighting", because the way Channing moved was like a dance. I told him not, but he's a top fighter and quite acrobatic. He's not a fan of Gambit, but that caught his eye. I think he saw the same Marvel saw.

To be fair, that scene alone sells the character on how athletic he's meant to be.
(IICR, Gambit canonically can't dance, right? Heh)
