The show is dope. Gambit's new voice actor is great. I kinda wish they recasted Rogue? I know it's iconic, but I can hear the age in her voice. It's weird. But I'm not on board with the Rogue/Magneto thing. AoA only works because the world was #&$$ up and burning.

Otherwise the show was great. I look forward to how it'll develop.

I'm with you on Rogue's voice. I was all for Lenore Zann coming back originally but you can really hear the age in her voice. Even when she's just talking regular it's like she's trying to make her voice higher. Maybe trying to make her sound younger or something but it just sounds off. It's been a long time, maybe she forgot how to do it. I now think I would've liked a new voice actress. Oh well. I'll probably get used to it.

Interesting. Now, I want to hear the voice actor/tress. Having worked in radio and having a voice as it were, it's interesting when cast incorrectly. The nostalgia is great but perhaps sometimes it's good to change things up. I am unsure Chris Potter could handle Gambit today.

Anyway, my cheating ways of Disney is lost, I'll find a way or sub and unsub. LOL

Loved it...and then it screeched to a halt in episode 2. Of all the storylines they pick the worst. I'll stick with it for now. I hope this doesn't turn him into a villain.

I'm surprised how much I'm enjoying Scott and Logan. Ray Chase is doing an excellent job.

AJ is great--he sounds similar to Chris but puts his own spin on it, and he's consistent.

I hate dog piling, and bless her, but Lenore should've been replaced--but if I keep watching it'll be something I'll have to get used to.

Now, I'm wary about watching the show or find a way to watch without a sub, disney who hasn't made anything new until now is disappointing. C'mon rehash live action of their animated movies and not create anything new. bleh. IMO.

I'll wait until all of you tell me the deal, dm if needed and I don't care about spoilers.
The animation looks fantastic via the commercial ads. That might get me to try it out in some way.

Anyway, glad to hear the feedback. :)

So guys, I think I had a bit of an epiphany about some foreshadowing they did with Gambit early in the first episode. And if I'm correct will really have a big impact on Gambit. And Rogue. In this show. I will black out my theory below for anyone who still hasn't seen episodes 1 and 2 and plans to, or doesn't want any potential spoilers. But everyone else, let me know what you think.

So, isn't there a storyline in the comics where Rogue is forced to save either Magneto or Gambit and she chooses Magneto which fractures her and Gambit's relationship? Maybe it's AoA? Somebody help me with that. Well... in one of Gambit's first couple lines of episode 1 of X-Men 97 he says, "Rogue always comes to Gambit's rescue". That can't be a coincidence right? After the development between Rogue and Magneto and then when you think about it a little bit, it really seems like fairly obvious foreshadowing. What do you guys think?

Honestly, if they do that in this show, then it's over. There would be no coming back from that. You couldn't put them together again. In the comics you can get away with things you just can't in shows or movies. You also run the risk of splitting all the Gambit and Rogue fans which doesn't seem smart. Unless they were to subvert the comics and have Rogue save Gambit in the show. I don't know. If they did have Rogue choose Magneto over Gambit, they would have to then give Gambit some type of interesting arc. Remy can't just get chumped out and then relegated to the sidelines. It would kill his character. Anyway, the implications of this development (Gambit, Rogue,Magneto triangle) can have serious consequences.

Well the Gambit action scenes were pretty good.  Which compared to the comics is a plus.

But to be honest mate your theory is not exactly great for Gambit fans.  Are we ever going to get a Gambit that doesn’t simp for or have his arc built around Rogue.  It’s just such wasted potential and is it me but is Rogue (outside of some Kelly Thompson) in this and the comics just been written as cruel and plays with him like a puppet.  I mean it’s not like she ever fights for him.  you would think he would wise up but no your theory is probably accurate.

I have hard time believing the Gambit I love wouldn’t just be done with her, tell her to
do one in episode 3 and go off on an adventure.

I think the show will probably have Gambit get jealous and either leave the team or be "killed" off in the episode called "remember it" only to then come back with Sinister ala Morph in the original series, it will either be a ply by Remy acting as a double agent or just trying to get close to Sinister in order to help the X-Men... like he did when he, Storm and Jubs were taken prisoner in the original series, lots of call backs, endless possibilities, but so far so good

Everyone can relax, Dantay has returned:)
Glad to see you back and that you are fine.

I would like that. Gambit as double agent or false traitor is always cool.

Welcome back Dantay. Good to hear from you. Not much to say about the show, haven't seen it. I'll wait maybe and binge it or not. Not sure  yet, but the animation looks good on ads.

Well this is my problem with them going this way in the show. In the og show Rogue is not cruel to him. She's actually very sweet with him. Just some sexual tension banter between them. And she does fight for him and defend him. There's some really good stuff between the two in the original show but it goes very light. I thought this show was a good opportunity for them to get a litter deeper with them. But to do this whole Rogneto thing right off the bat is truly worrisome and is where their relationship  starts to become annoying and Rogue starts to become very unlikable. The only chance for this to work out well is if they do a much better job writing it then the comics. Or if Rogue winds up not getting with Magneto at all.

If she does choose Magneto, then I think they've completely broken the Gambit and Rogue thing in the show. And they have to give Gambit a really cool arc or something significant to do afterwards otherwise his character will just be buried. Like maybe leave the team and go find a de-powered Storm and maybe they can go thieving together. That would be something cool to do. But either way I would like to see him have his own arc/plot that is separate from Rogue. I definitely agree with that.

Going and being a double agent infiltrating Sinister is definitely an interesting idea and neat call back to the original show. A lot of cool stuff to do there if handled well. You then can open the door to the morlock massacre history/connection with Sinister. If they had the time to do it properly. But honestly, who knows how this Rogneto junk will play out.
