Welcome back Dantay. Good to hear from you. Not much to say about the show, haven't seen it. I'll wait maybe and binge it or not. Not sure  yet, but the animation looks good on ads.

Hey Neko, how can you resist watching a show that has Gambit as one of the main characters of the cast? :o

Well this is my problem with them going this way in the show. In the og show Rogue is not cruel to him. She's actually very sweet with him. Just some sexual tension banter between them. And she does fight for him and defend him. There's some really good stuff between the two in the original show but it goes very light. I thought this show was a good opportunity for them to get a litter deeper with them. But to do this whole Rogneto thing right off the bat is truly worrisome and is where their relationship  starts to become annoying and Rogue starts to become very unlikable. The only chance for this to work out well is if they do a much better job writing it then the comics. Or if Rogue winds up not getting with Magneto at all.

If she does choose Magneto, then I think they've completely broken the Gambit and Rogue thing in the show. And they have to give Gambit a really cool arc or something significant to do afterwards otherwise his character will just be buried. Like maybe leave the team and go find a de-powered Storm and maybe they can go thieving together. That would be something cool to do. But either way I would like to see him have his own arc/plot that is separate from Rogue. I definitely agree with that.

Gambit and Rogue will be together in the  end for sure. I am 100% sure in it.
The only problem that I don' t want or need bad Rogneto story so Gambit and Rogue can get a happy ending in the end. They can do better then this.

Going and being a double agent infiltrating Sinister is definitely an interesting idea and neat call back to the original show. A lot of cool stuff to do there if handled well. You then can open the door to the morlock massacre history/connection with Sinister. If they had the time to do it properly. But honestly, who knows how this Rogneto junk will play out.

This idea is really cool and that is why I don't think that it will happen.
I think we will get not as exciting story for Gambit unfortunatelly.

I spend too much on streaming and was part of someone else's family, there apparently is a crack down of sorts. It's easy. Is he a main man? Already, there is all this Rogneto business. Tempted to tease those at CBR.

I have not bought anything Gambit in years, that is my disappointment showing and I actually donated a lot of comic books, all I have left is incredibly Gambit-centric books.
I've given up on the hobby but not totally.  XD

I feel you.
I liked first 2 episodes but they weren't exactly Gambit worthy.

Cyke, Jean, Mags and Storm are main characters so far and everyone else felt just supportive.
Ofcourse focus may change in next episodes but I doubt that it will happen drastically.

Gambit's action scenes are cool but they are blink and miss but with Cyke action scenes in ep1 it felt like they were forcing to make him cool for viewers.

Will see but I have my expactations low that it will continue to be Jean/Cyke show with Storm big suplot and good guy Mags plot to shock Onslaught reveal at the end.

The first 2 eps were good from an X-Men perspective, but unfortunately Gambit's got a really bad character arc. He (and Rogue) are just plot devices for Magneto.
I've read 3 or 4 versions of this love triangle over the years...and Gambit has ALWAYS been written poorly.

Episode 5 (the Genosha episode) looks to have some potential for Remy. I'm cautiously looking forward to that one.
Like I said, the show's good, but from a Gambit perspective I don't like where they're taking him and I think they're going to pummel him down even further in tomorrow's episode as well.

Did Disney stick to third person dialogue for Gambit? Need to know, it is a deal breaker. It sounds horrible, IMO.
Divide the fans with Rogneto, very few liked it. And now, more ageist stuff on the way. IMO.
That article was interesting wantutosigh.

He spoke in 3rd person only a couple of times in the first ep, he didn't get much dialogue in the 2nd. But AJ LoCascio did a good job with his voice, I liked it. He was very suave in this night club scene with Rogue, that was probably his best scene (character-wise) so far in the series.

I thought it was pretty interesting. A lot of people are not happy and feel they are disrespecting Gambit's character with this storyline. We are not alone.
I'm a bit nervous about episode 3 tomorrow. I really don't want Gambit's whole arc to turn into depression and simping for Rogue who starts treating him like a jerk.  This can really go south. The one glimmer of hope is that I remember reading the showrunner is a Gambit fan. So unlike the comics where the people handling the triangle didn't seem to care about Gambit, perhaps he will be handled with more care here.

Just keep your streaming services up to date folks or on some form of record. Turns out, I do have Disney+. How long I've been paying for it, no idea. I will unsub once the show is done and get a better deal.
Anyway, I watched half of eppy 1, Gambit didn't sound bad, the voice actor is pretty good. Rogue doesn't sound right (love nostalgia but a different actress voice might have been better). Cyke and Wolverine spot on. Not sure on Jean yet and I think Storm and Jubilee are pretty good.
I'll get caught up and see what I think. LOL.

Hey Toadman ... lets hear those thoughts or as in this case type away my friend. Nice to see/hear you again.  (some might know - a Simon and Garfunkel song reference on my part. LOL.)

It is so nice to see posters return! Nice to see all you here again.

After episode 3 I am sure that rogneto won`t be a problem and is just a misdirection.

Gambit`s arc for season 1 maybe finally realizing that he is a hero and people needs him. Like Cyke told in ep1 hat we needed you but Remy didn`t bother even to listen.

As for Rogue then Mags probably will help her to start control her powers. But in the end it will be made to make her weaker.

Mags in ep2 told that Xavier always was staying in his head so I am ready for Onsalught reveal in the end of season 1 and that Mags planned most of stuff and played a long game to destroy X-Men from within or smth like this.
