The images used here make the whole thing hilarious.

The year of Gambit keeps on giving.

"No, we're not wearing the costumes again, Chan, I'm out, bye. Byeeeee"

I know no one can match the great Jim lee, but the way they draw male characters today is just too soft.
The style goes well with some characters. Gambit's face is too rough for this. I take it as YOUNG PEOPLE™ today ain't familiar with the concept of "rough handsome".

I agree with the artwork. I miss the rugged look of some of the males and the super sexy look of some of the females. I also think today's artists are probably into anime where the men are much more "fem" looking. Not a fan.

To me, this is how Gambit looks like if we're talking a more "realistic" portrait. If I was making the casting, I'd be looking for someone with this look.

IMO Gabriel Aubry was basically Gambit in real life (appearance).

Gaspard Ulliel too had a bit of the look. So sad that he died. And the age ain't even a problem for me, heavy smokers age double.

(If I find Gambit Halloween costumes on twitter, I'll post some later)

Yeah, years ago this guy came up as fancast. Don't know if he could act, but look-wise he was perfect.

Always hated this fancast. That guy wasn't good-looking, not his face anyway, and I wouldn't have liked Gambit having a thick French accent.

It doesn't matter how much they scream into the (npi) void, Channing Tatum is the official Gambit and he did a good job and most people liked him and want him to do the role again.

I like Locascio, I think he did a great job voicing Gambit (this cosplay is also a fine work), and he's also been a Gambit fan since he was a kid (he's around Tatum's age, I think, so he knows the character), but let's be real: he has the post 2000 Gambit type IMO. You need more than a "pretty face" to play a good Gambit and that being the only factor certain fans are demanding of the casting it's well, kind of shallow. It's funny poor guy's been 'adopted' by the Twitter Rogue Fandom™.  :-X :-X

And yes, I liked the idea too until I saw Tatum play the role. That's what convinced me we need more than a hot dude.

Jesterbell's takes on Gambit can dive me nuts. I'm starting to see what some of you mean when you criticize these Rogue fans who love "Gambit and Rogue". They have some really poor takes on Gambit.

Some fans thinking that Gambit being handsome isn’t a requirement is baffling and then the same people come up with terrible suggestions. Seriously.

"Gambit fans in name Only".
"Fans of Rogue, Hots for Gambit"
"TWITTER ROGUE FANS™"

There are more Gambit halloween costumes, I'll try to post a few more later.

Being handsome is a requirement, but it shouldn't be the only one. Personally, and I know this is a very personal unpopular take, I am ok with suspend my disbelief if the actor is just ok looking but nails the character and mannerisms and convinces me about the role.

Another actor, btw, that also kinda convinces me could do well is Chase Stokes. I don't consider him being stunningly handsome, but he could do well.
