The faith you have is amazing. She is not selling me though. We'll see or read. She wrote better in the Bat-world or so I thought. Maybe not. It is hard to tell now.
It is possible the expectation is too high on the fan part. We as a group were used to grittier story telling when it comes to Gambit. We are not getting that, as love interest ... sure ... okay. But milktoast, no. IMV.

One of us, Guilders, is drawing Uncanny. It means a lot for me. Can't wait to see what Andrei created.

Gambit is not written bad in Uncanny. We just don't have him enough in it. Will see how she will handle him in #12 solo issue.

Its' good the Guild managed to infiltrate an artist... next step is infiltrate a writer... and then, the X-Editorial... muahahahha. (come on, it does look like something gambit fans would do)

I agree, we haven't yet seen much of Gambit and I'm a bit wary of any change Simone might do to the canon. But also we need to be fair and wait for what she offers. Alas, so far, Rogue fans aren't happy, Cyclops fans aren't happy. There are chances for a trifecta.

You noticed that too?? I've called him out on it several times.
Same.

He's right that many reviewers and critics aren't watching what they talk about and just jump into screaming "woooooke" and that is wrong. That made some of them actually watch the thing and that's great. But he didn't want to take the L about how we don't need to see the media made by people with petty intentions against the fans.

Like, if someone says "we're casting Gambit as a woman because we have too many male x-men", I don't need to "give it a chance", I'm not watching. His attitude is full of "then don't watch it", but he still reviews terrible comics. The whole thing made him have a meltdown.

I think it looks very good... artwise. Sentinel dogs and the outliers feels more lukewarm to me now. I think after the crossover we really need to give Jubilee, Kurt and Remy some time to shine.

Lost the link, but this year it's the 50 anniversary of Giant Size X-Men, and there is some celebration for Storm #7. Wonder if we might have some Gambit announcement considering it's his 35th anniversary as well.
(edit: there are already rumours and stuff about upcoming MCU xmen, should we open a thread for that?)

The guy is reacting to a channel that has "major X-Men updates" every two days because there's actually no real news. In the original video, the guy believes Gambit will stay, it's what he thinks, it's not even a rumor.

I think we're being strung along, and we can hold our breath for a new solo.

There are no rumor other than the one from months ago about Gambit and Kitty being in the reboot.

UNTIL HE'S 90...

If it's true, that'd be two things D&W predicted.

I saw more spoilers for UXM and I love the art. I get why some might not, but it's personally a style I really enjoy. Still, no Gambit on those spoilers. One day to go, so no biggy.

The writing is being trashed, though. And more accusations of "racism" for GS. I think that's bs, she's not at all, but the writing is definitely a low point.

I also checked (haven't yet read) Rogue Savage Land and it's... meh. Nothing new, except bring back discussions about her alleged "relationship" with Magneto. Why can't they let that go? There was some kerfuffle bc someone was defending it as "comics are sexy again", but those are truly low standards. I wouldn't want a book that's just naked Gambit brooding. To me, and this is a very personal opinion, this shows that Rogue alone can't sell comics, fanservice or not.

There is really no excuse to keep delaying a Gambit solo. He's still talked about and it's not even one year since X-Men 97. If Rogue can have a Savage Land run, we can put Gambit anywhere, even before meeting the X-Men.
