Tomorrow's one year since episode five, aka when Gambit broke the internet, aka "omg what am I watching, my childhood! Omg stop!!"

I guess today officially is the last day of the Year of Gambit.

Chuckles ... I can't help myself. There is always too much Rogue in any way or form. pfft. Okay ... back to the thread.
I count on all of you for info and its greatly appreciated. :)
More balanced is better than wallpaper.  :)

I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea, but for my taste, Gambit looks so gorgeous and hot is this.

Thoughts?

I ask merely because 1.) Bishop and Gambit have connected history

and 2.) if they use the X-Men 97 cast, Bishop would be in it.

No. He is too short for  Bishop.

I don't think that Bishop or Cable will be in X-Men reboot. Time travellering right after Secret Wars and rebooted MCU is probably not best idea.

No. I'm kind of done with Boyega. I don't want him anywhere near IP's I love at this point. If the movie's bad and his character's poorly written it'll some how be the white fans to blame. No thanks. Keep him away.

I don't know if Bishop is a great character to start off with. As Purp said, to finally reboot the X-Men after all this multiverse junk and then introduce Bishop and time travel, doesn't seem like a great start. X-Men need a fairly simple straight forward introduction.

Just sounds opportunistic to me.

Totally agree.

BTW, with all the “being a ladies’ man isn’t sexy in modern times” bs coming from the Fantastic 4 (another huge red flag) chances of Gambit being a ladies man on screen just dropped from 1% to zero. Apparently Disney hasn’t learned anything.

Agree about the Johnny thing. This is what I feared about Disney, they just don't get it. I don't think Chambit will be affected, but MCU Gambit will.

And he's not even a ladies man or a womaniser, he's just flirty.

Agree with this too. I don't mind Boyega as Bishop if he can play the role well, but a few actors just want to be part of the MCU without taking the characters seriously. Like, I'm sure all Cynthia Erivo knows about Storm is that he was played by Halle Berry and she's black. She wants to make the role all about her and her grievances.

He's definitely a ladies man. I mean, come on.

Well, hopefully when this movie bombs, and it is looking more and more likely that it will, maybe they'll reconsider and remember women LIKE a confident man who oozes sex appeal and doesn't act like a neutered puppy.

That's part of Gambit's appeal, and most likely why he has so many women fans.

Not in they way marvel implies!

I honestly was planning on watching it on the theatre, paying my ticket. Because I wanted to check how marvel is gonna handle teams.

 Now they can't suck it.

Even if they remember this is what Gambit is more known for, it will be a lite version of the thing.

I think the problem is they are equating ‘ladies man’ with ‘womanizer, and they aren’t the same.

As for Boyega, I think he’d make a good Bishop, but you guys are right, that the time travel aspect wouldn’t work for a first movie, maybe drop a hint or two about it, but deal with it later.

I think it could work if they used the Terminator model. In the main of the story, the Professor and the 05 are facing off against the first iteration of Sentinels. In the future, Nimrod goes back to the past to try to stop the X-Men in their infancy. Bishop goes back to stop him.

If Boyega or anyone is cast as Bishop, it'd be for the upcoming "Mutant Saga", and that's like three years from now. DOFP movie was 11 years ago, so it wouldn't be so "soon" to do something similar. AND yeah, it's not gonna be the first movie.

I don't think the movie would focus on time travel is Bishop is in it, just that they'd expect fans to know his character and maybe something is referenced. Point being, the studio's are gonna want a black man on the team and Bishop is the obvious choice.
