apart from spider man and Hulk there is nothing there of interest, the X-Men GotG crossover sounds stupid as does the Wolverines, oh look Aaron is taking a team to another new world how new and refreshing of him

The Storm issue sounds good. Gambit and Storm interaction is long overdue.

Guest appearances are nice, but hopefully we'll see him back as a regular in an X-Book soon.

Only now noticed that AL BARRIONUEVO is artist.

His art wasn't very good in Gambit solo but he handled fight with Remlik fine.

Good to hear.  I do hope their interaction is mutual in some way as though it is Storm's book, I don't want him to just be there for her to save.

I was surprised with that. Kurt's solo sold better then Cyke and Storm and he will have 12 issues as they. It is not right. He should have at least 15 issues.

I thought that but couldn't find the info.  Though, I could see how it would be around when its sales were the same or less than ANXF.  I think those "product names" do not work the same as the "Xmen" name.

I thought they abandoned that look two years ago? Oh well, too little too late. If they had him as a stable recurring character it might bumped sales up 5k or so. I'm steadily becoming "ok" with not reading the books any longer... On a high note, I watched GotG twice since I bought it.

Okay. I am really happy to see that Gambit is getting an appearance in Storm's book.  :smitten: If we're lucky it will be a real full appearance, with a lot of interaction between them, cause they play really well together, and have such a sweet history together. If it's just her saving 'loser Gambit' who gets to show up in like the last couple pages, I'll be super disappointed.

That being said.... please tell me I'm just delusional about something else....

That's the image for New Avengers promo for issue 31 or 32. No description is given, or as far as I can tell any indication who the hooded guy is, but it is apparently tied to the "Time Running Out" event. Here's where it weirds me out. That coloration and the eyes are very similar to Deathbit. I know that supposedly that whole Death persona was wiped out when Angel removed or turned off the other Death seeds, or whatever.... it was a little confusing. However, if time travel is involved, or alternate timestreams or part of his power return thanks to his brain restructuring from Faiza also fixed Deathbit, then it could resurface. Keeping in mind that at the highest potential of his powers he can control time and space, could Gambit, or an alternate timeline version of his Witness persona have gone crazy Deathbit and be bringing an "End to Time"?  XD

Thankfully no. That deos not have anything to do with Deathbit(I would be very happy to never see Deathbit again).  They are the Black Swans that have had a big presence in Hickman's New Avengers-

The hooded figure seems to be Rabum Alal. The central antagonist of Hickman's Avengers Saga and the being that started the incursions.

I want Deathbit to go away for a long time.

Yeah... satellite books just don't jump out to retailers to buy as often, which really hurts the sales numbers. ANXF a lot of people didn't even know was a thing for months because their local stores only picked up a handful of issues, if that, sold them out and other would be buyers never knew about it. Don't get me wrong. Not saying that is the reason it is getting cancelled. A lot more of that is  because once the tradebooks came out most people stop buying the single issues. So there was no reason for comic retailers to stock more, and since they control more of the numbers that Marvel actually bothers to track, you end up with a ridiculously low sales number, regardless of how many people actually enjoy the series.

Just realized the preview says Storm is coming to bail out Gambit because he's in over his head... ::sigh::

Of all the characters, I wonder what Storm will be able to help Gambit with that gee, I don't know an entire International Thieves Guild can't get him out of? Whats the point of being king if you cant rely on underlings? These are the times I wished we still had the ongoing. If they were going to allow Asmus to put the man so high, they could have at least set some stuff into play, such as forcing all the active super-thieves, hero or villain to come underneath a single banner. Not work together, but still have to answer to someone/something, namely the ITG. It'd make sense for super thieves to given out "territories" and/or assigned stomping grounds to cut down on violent interactions or turf wars. Since they are trying to give Storm some edge, she could be brought in on it along with the likes of; Fantomex, Blackcat, Lila Chiney (when Earthbound), Boom Boom, Swordsman, Beetle, Black Fox etc... I mean if your going to have a shared universe, might as well use it for more than bombarding us with crossover events.

Oh how we miss you Asmus.

again he left, it wasnt a matter of he didnt have any work , he, said on twitter at the time that when the Gambit series was done he was done with Marvel, his wife or girlfriend had just given birth so he wanted to focus on the home life, he had a success with Gambit a series no one had hopes for, im sure he could have chosen another project, he chose not to

Its a sad thing that this is the only thing that Gambit is going to appear in for a while comic wise, we need to make a fan comic just to keep ourselves busy.

It was his wife, btw and they had a son.   ;)

Left... Not rehired, whatever, I still miss his monthly undertaking of my favorite character. He seemed to be a Gambit fan coming into the project and is known for writing gray area characters well. I think it quickly became a passion project for him. His only real fault with the book was not being upfront with the fans when it got canceled. That annoyed quite a few people.

While it was evident we weren't going to get the gritty side of Gambit (darker, possibly winning a real one on one fight) some of us were hoping for, the lighter, more thoughtful side was being well represented by him and Mann. A real treat. And it was received by the ladies thanks to the initial shower scene.

He was a smart writer. The book had a cinematic feel at times. Appealed to the action fans, hard core Gambit followers, ladies, comedy, espionage, sci-fi, Romy-sters... Awesome.

I need to admit that I was one of a few who liked that it wasnt explained who made Joelle immortal. It was enough for me what she told in one sentence. Like how Liu explained how Gambit defeated Deathbit in one sentence.

But if the man who made Joelle immortal was Sinister than it would be awesome. Joelle was born a long time ago so maybe she was part of old Black Womb project or somehow connected with Amanda Mueller.

In Nicieza`s solo Remy time travelled to 1891 when all this Amanda Mueller/Sinister project started.
Maybe Joelle was born in 1891. Then in 1920 she became immortal and her daughter was born . Nowadays her old daughter dies and she decided to kill herself too. It would awesome way to bring back old mystery around Gambit`s past and add new mystery. Also it will allowe to bring Sinister into the book.

In the X-Men world most of the folk who have been turned into immortals have been linked to Apocalypse. Namely Exodus and Sinister. There are some more that Rick Remender wrote but they were just canon fodder, nonsensical, anime/manga rejects.

Originally from the 12th century he was a crusader that clashed with the Black Knight..
Some time after the fight he wondered until his mutant powers emerged. Somehow Apocalypse got a hold of him and transformed him into Exodus. After a while he turned on Apocalypse but was defeated and placed into stasis until Magneto found him and he took Cortez's spot as his 2nd in command on Avalon. He's the nut bag we all know him to be now... With undescribed powers that typically aren't fleshed out more than being "psionic". Think of him as a poor mans whole Legion. Keyword, poor man. He can fly, use tk, tp, teleport, fire blasts of energy, super durable, immortal and uber crazy.

Luca Pizzari (the guy that drew Sinister Gambit) is drawing the Red Skull series written by Joshua Williamson. It's about some anti-heroes going into a dangerous part of Battleworld and making sure that the Red Skull is actually dead.

What I pulled from those solicits...

Beast is a @$%##%# traitor, again

I'm insulted by Captain America "White"... So does this make Sam Captain America " Black ". Wtf? Who OKed this?

SW is still going on...

Marvel has a lot of work to do in terms of synergy and timing. There are still books gauging the reaction of the last days of Earth, in September!

Way too many Spiderman books...

Hip Hop variant covers..?

"What if?: Infinity"... I guess they're hardpress to let go of Hickman.

It's official that I won't be reading anything in the fall...

While the question is specific about Rogue - the general issue I've got with the answer - is the double dipping comment.  Who is he kidding.

Quote
Hey Tom, really loving Secret Wars & looking forward to what's next. I'm wondering: can a character like Rogue appear in an x-title even though she's on an Avengers team, or are you trying to limit the number of teams characters are on?

We’re trying not to double-dip on characters as much as possible, so I wouldn’t want Rogue to be appearing regularly as a member of another team–that would just create a whole lot of coordination difficulties for both books. That said, there’s absolutely no reason why she can’t show up in X-titles as the occasion warrants.-Brevoort

I agree if he was talking double dipping the characters pre SW but now it looks like the new X-books do not have any of the same characters on them, the only 2 characters in other books are Logan and new wolverine (X - 23). I really hate it when all the same characters are on all the books so hopefully he is serious about it and we can finally get several books with all different cast of characters.

Me too, there is nothing I'm interested in.  And allegedly there won't be very many mutants either.

I thought Hope undid Wanda's No More Mutants spell?

Wait, what's going on?  I'm so lost.  Where did the last sixteen months go?  Who are you people?

But seriously, we don't know what the mist will do or what effects it will have proto-mutants. I'm interested in seeing what it'll do mutants who happen to have one or more Inhuman ancestors. It seems every human with Inhuman genes underwent a metamorphosis. I can't imagine that there aren't at least a handful of mutants that have Inhuman DNA as well.

I actually like the sound of most of these book, for me at least all the teams are different  and its not all the same characters again plus each book has a different purpose.

Outside of the trades, which there are two collections of AoA - there is no Gambit anywhere. So much for Alonzo and that there is a plan for Gambit.

There hasn't been an X-Men panel in more than a year. You think they'll devote any time at all to Gambit's whereabouts? What's funny about this marginalizing of the X-Men is other media outlets other than CBR: the Complex, are starting to pick up on it. iO9 just did a pretty lengthy article on it yesterday.

Alonso said he had plans for Gambit for the same reason it was brought last year toward the end of X-Factor, he was tired of his fans constantly asking. I honestly think they hate it when Gambit gets a good reaction, whether if its from movies and or the books. The current crop finds him so distasteful that they just don't want to be bothered. I'd rather he stay in limbo than be written by someone who can't stay in impartial.

I think they are baffled as well.  And Tatum isn't making it any easier for them to ignore Gambit.  Magic Mike may just do some magic or so I hope anyway.  :D

yup one of the top actors in Hollywood wanted to play Gambit, correct me if im wrong people but i think he is the only top actor to pursue a comic book character role, every other actor was reached out to by Marvel for their cinematic universe even the DC and Fox universe, Ryan Reynolds was always interested in Deadpool but Tatum kicked the damn door down and has a Gambit solo
