Definitely need to pull back Magneto for now. I say boost up the Sentinels, they have a lot more to offer, Magneto can step in much later...or have him play a very minor role in the early stages. Mr Sinister would be another great option as well.
I expect Wolverine to be involved, but we need Cyclops and Storm to have equal airtime. Throw Gambit in as a wildcard to bring something new and build him up for solo films (same with Storm), Rogue needs to be utilised a lot better. And have Kitty and Iceman as the kids. And of course Beast.

My cast for 1st film...

Cyclops
Storm
Jean Grey
Wolverine
Beast
Kitty Pryde (student)
Iceman (student)

Rogue (conflicted teen, daughter of Mystique)
Gambit (wildcard/double agent? working for Professor X or Magneto in secret?)

Sentinels (Trask, Gyrich)
Graydon Creed (son of Mystique, Rogue's brother)
Magneto (minor role that builds in later films)
Mystique (See Magneto)

Interesting things stated in the article.

I do think streaming services is filling a void.

It's the same things people have been complaining about since forever. Too many action movies, too much Sci-Fi, a few years back it was 'every TV show has vampires in it now'... When I was a kid you had three TV networks and PBS, Basic Cable was all reruns, Premium Cable was just movies and the closest thing to streaming was renting movies on VHS from a brink-and-mortar store. Oh, and you had a handful of movies released a year(before direct -to-video became a thing) that would stay in theaters for several months to over a year in some cases.

There is a wealth of opportunity for both creators and consumers  the likes of which could not even be imagined just a few years ago. There is also a lot of competition. People are choosing to go see things in theaters that look especially good on the big screen. Big action, immersive special effects, sprawling period dramas...

I'm pretty sure those Nicholas Sparks movies are in the same general vein as Meg Ryan's romcoms, so it's not like nothing of that sort is still being made, it's just probably not being offered to Aniston.

My 2 cents.

I would agree that its Aniston not getting roles. Maybe she is bitter that her new project is on a streaming service and its not Netflix, Amazon or something. I'm not an apple product person so I'll never see her show and I don't care that I don't see it.

I also remember a time when it was believed by the movie industry themselves that the action hero genre would die out. I don't see that happening.

Media consumption is high and I don't see that slowing down. Especially with streaming being part of equation.  And a lot of places you would not expect to create content are now creating content.
Hollywood should pay attention, these smaller studios are producing content, some of which is far better than the big budget films.

Marvel's The New Mutants will be available pre-order. Too steep for me but, here is what CBR article says:
https://www.cbr.com/marvels-new-mutants-pre-order/

$25.99 for a new movie seems a tad much even if its new and the studio is losing out at theaters. VOD might make the film more viable but the price shouldn't be higher than any other VOD movie release.

Amazon took the link down for the United Kingdom and USA.
Well, so much for trying to stay on top of Marvel's movies. LOL

I finally watched "Dark Phoenix", FX network has been running it often. Plot wise, a tad simplistic and the fake angst was a little annoying.

Overall, I guess it was alright, I can see why people didn't go to the theater for it.
Mystique getting killed by Jean Grey - good. The Phoenix look didn't arrive until the end but it looked good and in the end it was flying across the sky. Open door as it were.

The kid who had the part of Nightcrawler, I thought good casting.

Here is the trailer
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JqcncLPi9zw
The song is Head East: Since You Been Gone

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XJKZL1EKpdY
Rainbow did a cover of the song as well.

It's already getting mixed opinions due to James Gunn, but as long there no Fleetwood Mac (The Chain) and Looking Glass (Brandy - You're a Fine Girl). That was featured too much in vol2, I may check it out.
Another trailer:

Final trailer May 5th 2023 release date. This trailer is a mix of the other two, with a little bit more footage.

Okay, I'm not a Captain Marvel fan in general but her first movie was good and it appears #2 will be fun to watch. I'm on board.

That trailer is cool, Nov 10, 2023 release date.

When I find the youtube equivalent, I'll post.
