An author I follow sends out a newsletter. Not often but that is okay.
She does confessions about her books, the ones that give her a hard time and has revisions.
Anyway in today's letter she admits she is terrible at plotting. Which causes her revisions and she actually had to re-write two of her books.
The nugget of advice in the letter I think is good to share.
Someone once said that writing is rewriting, and let me tell you, it’s more than true in my case. - Larissa Ione
She plots loosely now because when you have a character who wants to do something that the author wasn't expecting, let the idea run. Even tragic characters can have compassion.
