earworms?
« on: February 17, 2024, 12:23:59 PM »
via dictionary dot com:
a catchy song or tune that runs continually through a person's mind.
now the topic:
1 - do you have it? It's all good if you do.
2 - do you have a song to help remove the song you don't want in your head?
3 - do you look up the song and lyrics?

I'll start:
1: I do all the time have ear worm. Not the same song but there is always one.
2: I use "Hold On" by Yes, strong beginning that has a punch as it were.
3: I look up stuff all the time.

Recently - Home By The Sea: Genesis. The lyrics stuck in my head and I thought, hello rabbit hole, lets go. The song is about a horror scenario that could be used on TV. LMAO. Similar to the Eagles "Hotel California". The bottom line is I didn't notice until a day or so ago the horror aspect. Crazy!
Anyway - hope the thread is fun.

I get songs stuck in my head all the time, always different songs for different reasons. ‘Call me Maybe’ usually gets them out, but then that song is stuck in my head for like month, so I usually don’t ‘think’ of it for that purpose, lol

I do look up lyrics, because there’s nothing worse than having the wrong lyrics constantly running through your head. :p

Right, getting the lyrics wrong is like some sort of funny. I have misheard quite a few and recently my sister told me when I was listening to a Monkee's song and got one line wrong each and every time for years. LOL.
